I was given some expired Velvia 100 and decided to see how it looked when cross processed in C-41 chemistry.
Shot with a 1920s Kodak Cartridge Hawk-Eye No.2 Model C box camera.
Here is a similar shot taken with the same camera on Ektar 100 earlier this year. I really like the old Kodak box cameras. They take amazingly good pictures considering how old they are.

I decided to pull out a box full of very old photographs and letters for this week's theme. Took the help of an online tutorial on cross processing. Turned out to be fun though I hope I haven't 'overdone' it.
Testing a cross-processing technique in Photoshop CS3 for Mac, with my friendly male turtle as my model !
I roughly followed the steps in this photoshop cross-processing tutorial, and then tweaked to suit the image, and added some other adjustments to get the effect I wanted - including the fake vignette effect which is a radial gradient adjustment layer as described here.

After loading this film into my development cannister, just before I was about to pour the B&W Ilfosol3 developer in, I noiticed the empty film cartridge lying in the waste basket - it *finally* registered in my thick brain that this was a roll of Ektar 100.- a COLOUR film. Oops. I spent a little while reading various sources to determine what my options were. It seems one can develop colour film quite nicely with B&W developer. The negatives might be awkward to scan depending on your scanner but otherwise they are just fine.
This image is proof of the technique. I've done this several times over the years since and always with good results.
my pictures always seem darker when i put them on flickr. maybe it's just this monitor. or maybe it's my other one. i guess i should calibrate it.
