Latin name: Echinoidea
Polish name: jeżowiec
Sea urchins are small, spiny sea creatures of the class Echinoidea found in oceans all over the world. (The name urchin is an old name for the round spiny hedgehogs sea urchins resemble.) Their shell, which is also called the "test", is globular in shape and covered with spines. The size of an adult test is typically from 3 to 10 cm.
Sea urchins are members of the phylum Echinodermata, which also includes starfish, sea cucumbers, brittle stars, and crinoids. Like other echinoderms they have fivefold symmetry (called pentamerism) and move by means of hundreds of tiny, transparent, adhesive "tube feet". The pentamerous symmetry is not obvious at a casual glance but is easily seen in the dried shell or test of the urchin.
An early birthday present to myself. These gals are almost as old as I am. I had the cow and pig as a child. I got the full set in the original boxes and clothing. They make me laugh!

I could not find any information on Sparks' mask for this season. It looks like a Yeti. This is a popular theme of many goaltenders who peer out from a gapping, fearsome mouth.

God, I can't even think of that... it's a bit depressing...

And therefore, from tonight until Tuesday, we'll be out at a friend's house in Long Island, where we'll hopefully swim tomorrow... and bathe in the light... and bid farewell to a wonderful summer...

Stuck my hands into a boxwood to fluff out the dried bits & some tiny creature grabbed onto my pinkie. Didn’t see what it looked like because I reflexively flung it into the bushes (ouch) but it felt warm, soft, dry not slimy, not brittle or thin like insect legs, it felt.....pleasant.
So maybe a frog or a very young snake???
I should prolly draw small wings on it...
