I love dried up flowers, weeds and leaves they are so interesting! I hope I look this interesting when I dry up!
It is that time of year. There are strange creatures roaming around.
This is a real image. Spooky huh?
I have added focal zoom to this.
She pressed her back against the cold stone of the castle. From where she perched above, she could clearly see the group of figures huddled below. She smelled their confusion and curled her lip automatically.
(This little pixel creature makes me smile .....and we need as many smiles as we can get these days!
Stay safe out there♥)

Typically loading overnight, and leaving right about dawn, Evansville & Western train V532 was always hard to capture. Fortunately, I caught two afternoon departures from Alliance Coal at Princeton and was able to chase to Evansville on CSX. Here, at the Vanderburgh Country Fairgrounds, five EVWR locos roll into the gentle curve with over 100 loads of coal.
Neighborhood Flower Gardens - Iowa
Beginning to notice these gentle creatures coloring the breeze above the flowers. Quiet, gentle and unassuming, they go about their business daily.
As our summer begins to fade, we will be blessed with many more circling the flower beds and gardens!

You would find them in many and perhaps in most of our gardens (mine included). Of course, the garden centres sell them, but why do they and why do we buy such sculptures of children holding a water-spouting fish or that urn with wild men's faces looking at you? It is also true that we have inherited the forms and shapes of these figurines from antiquity and that they re-appeared in the gardens of the rich and the educated particularly from the 18th century on. The garden itself is a kind of alternative world, one of beauty, peace and with space for fantasy. It is therefore not fully controlled by rationality. There are even corners where the uncanny (das Unheimliche) has its place.
