A lone, weathered tree stands defiant amidst the frozen marshlands, its skeletal branches etching silent echoes into the wintry void. A timeless guardian of solitude, enduring the weight of seasons in quiet resilience.

Passion is the quickest to develop, and the quickest to fade. Intimacy develops more slowly, and commitment more gradually still.

Thistles are fascinating plants known for their spiky leaves and vibrant purple or pink blooms. As symbols of resilience and protection, they thrive in diverse environments, often in challenging conditions. Thistles play an essential role in ecosystems, providing nectar for pollinators like bees and butterflies while their seeds sustain birds like goldfinches. Despite their prickly appearance, they are edible and have been used in traditional medicine for their healing properties. When photographing thistles, try backlighting during golden hour to highlight their intricate textures and spines. Use a shallow depth of field to blur the background and emphasize their striking details.
Winter’s bitterness is beginning to take hold. The snow is sparse, but the biting cold and relentless winds cut deep. The lake has transformed into a relentless, churning force of unimaginable power and beauty. It’s time to settle in.

In the hush of the city, a solitary figure sits before a fountain — framed by shadow, wrapped in thought. A fleeting stillness in a world in motion.

Snow dunes, ice volcanoes and frozen waters meet the horizon, where a gentle sunset paints the sky in soft hues—a quiet reminder of winter’s stark and peaceful beauty.

Itago mo ako
kahit na sumandali
ilayo mo ako
sa ingay ng mundo
upang sandaling masamyo
kapayapaang wagas
katahimikang amoy rosas
ikubli mo ako
dyan sa piling mo
itago mo ako...
sa mga pinagkaka-utangan ko....

Inside Oscar Niemeyer's Cultural Center, I documented the interplay between architecture and art exhibition. The stark black and white treatment emphasizes the modernist space's clean lines, while the single displayed photograph creates a dialogue between the built environment and curated art.
Delicate remnants of a warmer time are embraced by the first snow. A quiet moment of transition, captured in nature’s minimalist palette.

Through careful framing, I reduced this architectural detail to its most fundamental elements - a single dramatic line of light cutting through darkness. The stark simplicity creates a meditative space where shadow becomes the main subject.
As the storm clears and the sun sets, the light, colours and mood increase. In the Fall the Great Lakes come to life.
With some disappointments with my Aliwan photos, I am posting two of my black and white compositions, to boost my morale...

Kindness is not without its rocks ahead. People are apt to put it down to an easy temper and seldom recognize it as the secret striving of a generous nature; whilst, on the other hand, the ill-natured get credit for all the evil they refrain from.

Please don't feel you have to understand, I've added in with the title now ( Abstract Thought & Vision ) : it may be helpful to visualize the white areas on the stones as kindness, and shinning moonlight as a feminine nature of the night, the surrounding areas in darker shades with tthe rain as what's referred to as evil, sometimes masculine, which to some is not evil, just possible desires. However, the rain is joining in union, heaven and earth, man and woman. ( see tags ) It's also known as harmony, when heaven and earth are joining together.
Hope that helps shed some light on " Moon Struck ."
