Poor children like them have the streets as their playground and school. Needless to say, they are always on the forefront to beat the odds. PGMA's battlecry to reduce poverty is always an elusive dream. Not unless we take them and their families out of the streets, give them opportunities to grow and prosper, can we say we have won the battle against poverty.

With your indulgence, I am posting some of the poignant shots I took on our photowalk last September 13. I cannot help but also advocate for their plight. It is my way of telling the whole world that there are still destitute circumstances like this.

Still carrying the torch for my mono-logues series. This is the next to the last post then I would be filling this up this stream with color again.
On August 6, 2025 – exactly 5,479 days since I started my Flickr journey in the autumn of 2010 – I crossed 10 million total views on my account.
Over the years, I've uploaded more than 4,400 photos, and 168 of them have been featured on Flickr Explore. This platform has been more than just a portfolio – it’s been a space for growth, inspiration, and connection with fellow photography enthusiasts from around the world.

This week I made the intentional decision to bring my camera with me each day. I had started noticing the cherry trees beginning to bloom, along with other small signs of spring, and I didn’t want to keep driving past them.
These blossoms were photographed during one of my workday stops. The soft pink clusters felt like a reward for simply paying attention.
Shot with my Nikon Z6II and vintage Helios 44-2, wide open to lean into the dreamy rendering and subtle swirl. I love how this lens turns an ordinary parking lot scene into something painterly and nostalgic.
There are so many beautiful moments tucked into the in-between spaces of the day. I’m glad I chose to carry my camera and notice them.

When I was a small child, I always wondered why sweepstakes ticket vendors do not become rich. When I saw this old woman in Sto Domingo church in Quezon city, who seem to have made this church door her permanent selling place, the same old nagging questions came back again.
Now I understand their plight better...I hope.>
