Have a wonderful Christmas weekend and a fabulous Friday ~ Debbie KissThePixel2019

Artistic framing of wooden marionette hanging among various decorative figures.

Marionettes symbolize the "inner child," self-reflection and the duality of human nature. Their human-like appearance can also symbolize aspects of human nature, both good and bad.

They represent something pure and mystical as sacred figures on the walls of a temple.

Artistic framing of a vibrant mural featuring a stylized fish skeleton with a crescent moon-like tail and a colorful seating area on the foreground.

Often seen in artwork, the fish skeleton is associated with the water element in many cultures because water is often seen as a source of life and nourishment.

Geologically, Table Mountain is primarily composed of sedimentary rocks. Sandstones produce its steep and jagged cliff faces consisting of thickly layered quartzitic sandstone, very hard and resistant to erosion.

The mountain as we see it today is only about 60 million years old.. still a venerable age compared to that of the Alps (32 million years) and the Himalayas (40 million years) bearing in mind the age of the rock itself (540 million years).

Yesterday morning, me and hubby went for an early morning dog walk, I love a frosty Sunrise. I was trying to find something really frozen to photograph, only the leaves on the ground were frozen solid, but I couldn't make an image work for me, so after some digging around collecting interesting frozen leaves I got my poor hubby to hold a very frozen and cold leaf up into the light and this was the result. No hubbys were hurt in the making of this image :)))) Have a fabulously frozen Sunday ~ Debbie KissThePixel2020

How do you photograph your home grown Chilli's and make them look 'mildly' interesting and creative.. you peg them to a washing line... 😂

I have just frozen enough Chilli's and Peppers to last me all winter for lots of recipes and dinners.

Hope its not a 'Chilli' Tuesday for you, think some knitwear will be coming out the cupboard today...

Sunlight casting distinct shadows onto a gravel surface, displaying various symbols resembling ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.

A unique art form created by arranging pebbles or gravel to cast shadows that spell out words or create images. This technique utilizes sunlight to project the desired shapes and can be a creative way to leave messages or create temporary art installations.

The interplay of light and shadow, specifically how sunlight creates patterns on the ground. The shadows are derived from a source above, with cutouts, allowing light to pass through in specific shapes.

The gravel surface provides a textured backdrop, enhancing the visual contrast between the illuminated areas and the dark shadows. The small stones create a sense of depth and unevenness.

Taken from a slightly elevated perspective, looking down at the ground, capturing a wide array of these illuminated patterns across the frame.

On a walk with the doggies, I came across this ugly metal fence surrounded by pretty wild flowers. I stood there and thought 'is this beautiful or ugly?"... I'll let you decide...

It reminded me of a window and I tried to photograph it in a way to catch the metal fence, the pretty flowers, the light and make it look like a window frame to a meadow.

"Using an artful tool does not make one a dry technician. It seems to me that people that are anxious about our technical advancement, confuse means and ends. Naturally a person that only works for material gain will not harvest something that is worth living for. But the machine is not an end in itself. The airplane is not an end. It is a tool. Just like the plough.

When we think that the machine will harm man, then it is perhaps because we are not yet capable of judging the rapid changes it has brought about. We hardly feel at home in this landscape of mines and power stations. We have just moved into this new home that we have not even finished yet. Everything around us has changed so fast — personal relations, working conditions, habits. Even our state of mind is in turmoil.

We are all youthful barbarians, and only our new toys bring us excitement. That has been the sole purpose of our flights. This one flies higher, that one faster. But now we will make ourselves at home. We will forget the machine, the tool. It is no longer complex; it does what it is supposed to do, unnoticed.

And through this tool we will find again the old nature, the nature of the gardener, the navigator, the poet."

As described in my previous image, trying to get the bubbles to land without popping or just trying to keep them from floating off for a free ride on the breeze, I thought I may as well catch one in action. This image was taken just as the Sun was coming up, literally just a hint of orange starting to come through my woodland creating stunning bokeh and the white frost on the grass was a glow. If you look closely in the bubble you can see the the reflection of the bright orange sky ...

"I was walking along, minding my business

When out of an orange colored sky

(Flash, bam, alakazam)

A Wonderful bubble came by"

I love Nat King Cole and this particular song 'Orange Coloured Sky', so I changed the last line of this verse to go with this image, have a fabulous Tuesday ~ KissThePixel2020

I have an array of amazing plumptious pumpkins I have grown this year here at Long Acre Manor, they seemed to have ripened quite early?? Our weather has been so strange. I took this image last Sunday, four days after 36 degree heat, I think the heat followed torrential rain has ripened them... I shall keep them as long as I can in the pumpkin patch for Hallowe'en, if not, quite simply Spicy Pumpkin Soup will be made ~ KissThePixel2019

In the ancient swamps of Florida, where the palm fronds whisper secrets and the humidity thickens like prophecy, a lone figure rises. Clad in sleeveless garb and crowned with curls, they extend their sacred device skyward, seeking signal, guidance, or perhaps just a decent selfie angle. Locals call them the Palm Prophet, a mythic being who communes with the gods of Wi-Fi and weather apps. Legend says they once summoned a thunderstorm just to cool off. Others claim they can decode the future from the flicker of a low battery icon.

This black-and-white relic captures the moment of invocation: dramatic shadows, jungle tension, and the eternal struggle between nature and notification. Is it a prayer? A post? A plea to the algorithm? Only the fronds know.

Never let January be without flowers and sunshine ~ KissThePixel2019

Artistic framing of a beautiful reef barrier. Shot from Sharm El Sheikh

During Sunrise...

I wish to just give some friendly advice about the following image. If you try this image using 'crystal balls' which I purchased from Amazon, please photograph the image using your 'Live View'. I'm not a big user of 'Live View' not for any particular reason, I just like to use my camera the old way. But, these balls magnify the Sun by so much and if you were to stare down your view finder with the Sun reflecting in the crystal balls you will damage your eyes so please use 'Live View'.

I had taken my other images just before the Sun had reared her head and then within minutes she was beaming through the balls, it was quite an amazing thing to see, so I lined it up through the 'Live View' and now bring you this beautiful January Sunrise here from my beautiful garden and woodland, have a fabulous week ~ Debbie KissThePixel2020

Open a book, write a story, make it your own story, find the magic ~ Debbie KissThePixel2020

Artistic framing of a clear blue sky with scattered clouds illuminated by sunlight from a low angle, creating a gentle glow.

A distinct crescent moon is visible in the upper part of the frame when the moon can still be seen during daylight hours. The presence of the moon during daylight indicates its phase, as a crescent moon often appears near the sun's position, making it visible during twilight or even parts of the day.

Some clouds exhibit warmer tones from the sun's low angle, while others appear in shadow. The composition focuses solely on the sky and clouds, creating a serene and expansive visual.

Taken shortly after sunrise when the sky takes on a deep blue hue due to the scattering of shorter wavelengths of light by the atmosphere.

High angle close-up framing of the rush of water up a beach from a breaking wave. The sea waves seem to carry water to wash over the beach.

Being visible, the swash zone is most associated with beach erosion and the impacts of climate change. A swash helps to build up the beach, loosing its energy and depositing its load of sand and silt.

The landward edge of the swash zone is highly variable in terms of geomorphology, and may terminate in dunes, cliffs, marshes, ephemeral estuaries and a wide variety of sand, gravel, rock or coral barriers. This influences the exchange of sediment between the land and ocean, which ultimately forms the coastline.

Shot from the seashore of Dahab, South Sinai.

Low-altitude framing of a massive white cloud with cotton-like appearance in a bright blue sky. The prominent cloud formation in the upper-middle section draws the eye and provides a focal point.

The natural contrast between the vibrant blue of the sky and the pure white of the cloud is inherently appealing and visually calming. The subtle variations in cloud density and shading add textural interest.

The image evokes feelings of tranquility, peace, and expansiveness.

Beyond physical vastness lies a metaphysical dimension that invites exploration. From sprawling landscapes to infinite skies, the sheer expansiveness of our natural world offers insights that can deepen our understanding of ourselves and the universe.

While a common subject, the specific perspective and lighting captured in this particular moment contribute to its unique aesthetic. It's a reminder of the beauty in everyday phenomena.
