We pulled over on the Kancamagus Highway and these little blue berries where everywhere. They LOOKED like Blueberries but I wasnt about to try to eat one!

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Fire Department gathered on May 5, 2022 to honor the achievements of seventy LAFD uniformed and civilian members who successfully completed the demanding process of promoting in rank or status within the Department.
Expressing her pride in their accomplishments, City of Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin M. Crowley oversaw the formal promotion ceremony at the LAFD Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center in Elysian Park.

Zeiss Ikon Nettar 517/16 with Novar-Anastigmat 1:6.3 f=75mm lens and Vario shutter. Made in the real Zeiss Ikon factory in Stuttgart (West Germany) after 1949 and imported to the UK by Wallace Heaton Ltd (suppliers of photographic quipment to the Royal Family, as we can deduct from the crest on the back of the camera). Pity it's not the f/4.5 version.

Wow, what to do with Rick Perry. He was at a high point in this photo, deservedly so, speaking at the Houston Technology Center regarding the Emerging Technology Fund. A very pro business job creation program of investment in Texas.
Yet he is also the man behind the Texas Business Income Tax, a large business tax increase euphemistically called a "Franchise Tax". Sigh. I've chewed on this bone before, my main issue is I'm from Texas: so call it what it is. If I have to pay it, cool, but don't sugar coat it.
The real Rick Perry is of course a politician. He has to be. He has many constituencies to please. Personally I'd like a humanitarian fiscal conservative leader. But neither party seems to be able to provide that. I wish....
Update: I elaborated my thoughts on the Texas Business Income Tax on the Houston Chronicle here. No, I don't really know why I do these things and can't go with the flow with everyone else. I'm not that bright I guess. Can't help myself.

Galgebakken er en liten gate på Nordnes i bydel Bergenhus i Bergen. Den går fra Strangehagen til Haugeveien, og har tre husnumre. Navnet kommer av at det fra 1500-tallet av var rettersted her, med galge (til 1830-åra) gapestokk og kak.
