Liesl Gibson's linen caftan as taught on Creative Bug. I used a Kaufman chambray that I'm very disappointed in. Washed and dried then just washed and line dried three times since making it and its already looking worn/slubby and seams are falling apart on the neckline. Construction easy in retrospect but wish there would have been written instructions and that some of the camera shots were more in focus. Might try again in a shot cotton and maybe dress length.
My own original work. Thanks for looking. If interested, my art is in four separate albums: 'Creative 1, 2, 3 and 4'.
Inspired by a raven that I saw on Tennyson Down, Isle of Wight. The cross is incidental, but I was probably influenced by the proximity of the Tennyson Monument :-) This is my own original creation: completed 31/7/22. Thank you for viewing.
I am thankful for eMiLy....this wonderful..funny...creative...talented girl...you would never know by looking at her or hearing her sweet sweet voice that she suffers so bad from panic and anxiety...if we saw inside her 17 year old body..I know that all we would see is a bunch or wires sparking and flying all over the place...she called from school yesterday and wanted me to come get her...for the first time ever...I had to tell her that she needed to breathe deep...lay down in the nurse's office for a few minutes and see if she could manage...after using purell about 5 million times and having the staff look at her like she was crazy...she went back to class....she was still on edge when she got home and she wasnt mad at me anymore....but...those are the days that make me feel like the worse mother in the world...I will survive..I will survive.
This is her desk chair that she works on..off and on....if you know her and you look at the chair and the things she puts on it...you can see her life...sometimes I look at it and I am really sad...sometimes it makes me laugh...she almost always makes me laugh at least once a day!!!!

Tell us about a painful memory...
6th Grade was so painful because of:
Glasses
Brand New Middle School
Acne
Goofy clothes
Puberty!!!
All at the same time, and the same year that my grandfather died of Parkinson's Disease.

My space this week is a mess of creativity, some good some driving me crazy! I'll start with the crazy - I have been working on items for my shop for some time now, but it seems that as I get closer to actually putting them in the shop I am second guessing myself. Does anyone else have this problem? I love projects when I start them and as soon as their finished I am my own worst critic! I wanted to show you this pincushion I made ages ago (it's a biggie - so its almost impossible to lose), I would love it if you gave me some feedback whether or not you like it, what you might change or if I am being a very silly lady for thinking I should go back to the drawing board! Click here for larger photo of pincushion.
On a more positive note I am really loving making a granny a day - I've started making more than just one a day. I am afraid I may be a granny square making maniac. And today I am working on my first project from the Weekend Sewing book - guest slippers (except they are for me). Hope you all have a lovely week crafting your little hearts out!
