Canada Geese are a familiar winter sight in California, and it seems this year's warm winter (so far) has attracted them earlier. They're a great sight to see flying over. To golfers, their visits definitely add a "hazard" to the golf course.

I spent today with the Lower Sixth on their leadership course. When the teams were with me, on Bryn Euryn, they had to build a shelter, a camp fire with seating for all, an SOS sign and an animal trap. They were each awarded marks for their leadership skills. This team were particularly good - maybe there is a Head Girl or Head Boy amongst them - we will know on Friday!! My money is on the third from left.

My first cousin, Randy Fry. I visited Randy at his place of work, a municipal golf course in San Francisco, on the day before his 60th birthday (he, of course, was on his official break durning our brief vist.). A San Francisco native and a dedicated City employee. SI alum.

I got to play Bay Harbor today. This is very cool for several reasons: (1) today is a tuesday, so normally i would not spend my afternoon on a golf course, (2) this was my first time playing a $200 per round golf course, and (3) it was free. Wow! What a great day. Bay Harbor is a community built on the site of a former cement plant. It is now a very high end development. The course is on some bluffs overlooking lake michigan and little traverse bay.

U.S. Army Reserve military police Soldiers navigate through a Leadership Reaction Course as part of a team-building exercise at Camp Atterbury, Ind., Nov. 5, during a three-day range training event hosted and organized by the 384th Military Police Battalion, headquartered at Fort Wayne, Ind.
