This beautiful Prayer Tower is located at the intersection of Lafayette and Jefferson Streets in Pittsburg, Texas.
The Prayer Tower is made of Indiana limestone with a Vermont slate roof. It features a chapel and a 75-foot tower with four Paccard bells from France. It sits in a park with beautiful landscaping, a gurgling fountain and a life-size bronze sculpture depicting Jesus washing Peter's feet. The bells chime and play hymns on the hour.
In visiting the prayer tower and grounds, which was open and unattended, I did not see anything to indicate who built or maintains the facility. It is a peaceful and welcoming spot - a delightful find.

Adams Cave. Anyone who thinks cave photography is easy is so mistaken...lol. Theres nothing like hauling a camera bag, a flash bag, 2 tripods, caving gear, rope and three kids through a cave. I speak not only for myself but everyone else that does cave photography.. Its a serious love hate relationship.

Calvert, Texas is on State Highway 6 and the Southern Pacific rail line nine miles north of Hearne. The earliest known white settler in the area was Joseph Harlan, whose 1937 land grant was five miles south of the site of present-day Calvert. In 1850, Robert Calvert, for whom the town was named, established a plantation west of the town’s location. The railroad, constructed by the Houston and Texas Central Railway at the urging of Calvert and other area farmers, arrived in 1868 (though the first trains didn’t actually arrive until a year later). A group of investors purchased the townsite in January of the same year and, within a month, merchants began moving to Calvert from nearby communities. Calvert became the county seat and, in 1871, claimed to have the largest cotton gin in the world. The town prospered and, by 1878, it had 52 businesses. The county seat was relocated to another town a year later but Calvert continued to grow and, by 1884, had approximately 3,000 inhabitants, several churches, public schools, two banks, an opera house, and a weekly newspaper. By 1900, it was a major cotton center with gins, compresses, and cottonseed oil mills. The population was reported to be 3,322 but, after fire destroyed much of the business district, the town entered a steady decline. By 2000, the population was reported to be 1,426. Cullman County has one of the most unique yoga studios in the United States. The activities at the studio combines traditional aspects of physical Yoga with Christian and spiritual elements such as scripture readings, devotional thoughts, and biblical verbiage during sessions.
Started by Debbie Leopard, Cullman's Santosha Yoga came about as a dream fulfilled for this long-time yoga practitioner. Santosha means 'Contentment' in the ancient Sanskrit language.
Founded by Leopard and a partner in July 2014, the original yoga studio was just that: a common yoga studio. After the partnership dissolved and Debbie re-dedicated her life to Christ in August 2014, she transitioned the studio into a Faith-based facility offering a wide range of classes ranging from Kids Yoga to Beginner Yoga to BUTI (Yoga combined with Tribal dance).
Cullman's Santosha Yoga also offers FAITHFLO classes which allows students to Praise Christ through the movements of their bodies.
Debbie has been consistently practicing various forms of yoga for 19 years. She has been teaching the art for 6 years. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through the Yoga Alliance with 200 hours of accredited training.
Cullman Today recently visited Debbie at her studio and learned about her history and enthusiasm for yoga:
"I love the way my body feels after a good class. Relaxed and restored. I love the energy boost I get. But most of all the peacefulness of it. Non-competitive just letting your body stretch to its limits. And as a teacher to see a student achieve a goal. Well that's the icing on the cake."

The last of five Dennis Lance/Northern Counties B49F which were probably better known after transfer to Eastern National, where they fitted in better with EN's native examples. Did one or two of these get converted to training vehicles eventually?
I always thought these looked the part when new, but it didn't take long for the gloss to wear off.

These graves and headstones were all relocated to this spot in the back of the pauper's graveyard from their original location in the old city cemetery in downtown Tucson to make room for construction....
A bit of retail therapy for my wife and a photo-oportunity for me! We were in Leeds and visited the splendid County Arcade on Briggate, a collection of designer shops, coffee houses etc. in the heart of the city. Only problem was that it was absolutely heaving so difficult to get the usual "sans personnes" pics. Another outing for th new PowerShot SX50. Still getting used to it but it promises to be a very hand little piece of kit!
