My 2 year old custom Roger Cooper 9'6 Longboard - just had the wax cleaned off it.

When I ordered it I got him to add an extra patch of glass in the middle half to minimise the inevitable pressure dings.

It's got a few bumps and bruises but it's in better shape than a lot of longboards I've seen.

Shame to sell it but I've decided to get a smaller board that I can fit in the car - no more roof bars for me!

Back on July 6th of this year, Wayne and I ventured to Spirit Ridge K9 Training and Rescue outside of Hillsburgh, Ontario to attend an Open House they were holding that day.

In part we were there to check out the wonderful facilities but we were also there to visit with the photographer who was "setting up shop" for the day... the awesome and multi-talented Illona Haus.

I've had the privelege of knowing Illona for about 5 years now, having met through a mutual friend/dog trainer who put us in touch with each other. Illona was eager to meet us since we owned Cooper, and she owned Matea, both Wirehairs. We were also eager to meet her to glean from her experience working with e-collars. Ultimately we met up, hit it off and have stayed in touch ever since, though, much to my own astonishment, the last time Illona had actually seen Cooper was when he was still an adolescent puppy.

The short trip to Sprit Ridge was a chance to remedy that oversight and see Illona again for ourselves. And, of course, take advantage of her more than considerable talent behind a camera lens.

She is genuinely much more than a gifted photographer and I've been tooting her horn for some time now. And now that I've actually put my money where my mouth is, I'm thrilled to present to you some of her amazing photographs.

Over the next couple of days I'll be uploading other pictures she took of Cooper, to add to this one and those already loaded of Dyna. And, as fantastic as these shots all are, keep in mind that the final product is even crisper and more stunning than what you see here on screen.

I definitely urge you to check out her scruffydogphotography site. You'll not only be amazed by her unique eye and immense talent but, you'll also be thoroughly entertained by the wonderful characters that make up her portfolio. Better yet, purchase a session with her. You'll be thrilled with her work, just as I am ;).

Cooper's Hawk by Seth Friedman. Folded from a square of methylcellulose-sized unryu paper.

I made a mad scramble for my camera when I saw this Cooper's Hawk perched in a pine tree outside my bedroom window. It flew away as soon as I took a picture. It appears to have a loose tail feather. (June 26, 2014)

This is a digital panorama stitched together from five portrait-orientation images. The component photos were taken without a tripod, so there was some weirdness in the stitching that I couldn't quite make go away.

The "original" view of this image is actually significantly downsized for on-screen viewing. You can also see the full-size original.
