I was delighted to have the opportunity to spend about 60 seconds sharing a brick wall with a young Cooper's Hawk along the Rillito River in Tucson, Arizona.

This is the hike to do if you want to get up close and personal with the mountain. The route up Cooper Spur is the highest constructed trail on Mount Hood, reaching 8,514. The 7mile (RT) trail takes you up to the point where there is no more trail, and from here, it's a technical climb to the top. Enjoy the fabulous views!
Look how his head is smashed! And his tail! Hah! We're always finding him in the funniest positions.
Here's Cooper sleeping in his bed a couple years ago, looking much more relaxed: flickr.com/photos/michaelbenjamin/286975497/.

John (Doggy) Cooper is the lead singer and bassist of the band Skillet.
My fifth time drawing this guy, and the third I've posted here on Flickr. This is definitely my favorite drawing I've done, although that will likely change in the near future, as with all my favorites. Comparing this to my last attempt at the Doggy, this one is much smoother, the shading is better, the hair is finer, and it is much more lifelike. This drawing took about nine hours to complete. I really hope I can get my drawings to them at lifest this year! Otherwise I'll have to draw them all yet again... I'll try to post something LEGO soon, perhaps I'll finally make that big BL order and finish off a few guns.
Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Coopers Hawk that flew in my back door and hit the front window going after the birds on the feeder, he landed on everything he could hang onto then knocked things off a counter in the back room before getting up on top of the fridge, my cat was stalking it, I couldn't get it to fly out so I called for help, but as I was waiting and taking pictures the cat started for the door and the Hawk took off right behind him and out the door, they went different directions, he hung around for about a month. the top of the fridge is 24" deep just to give you a size comparison.

One of my favorite movie stars from Hollywood's Golden Age is Gary Cooper.
Remarkably handsome, yet devoid of the bravado of many other male superstars of his generation, Cooper's deep voice and piercing eyes made women swoon, and as a result, his personal life with his wife, Veronica, or Rocky, as she was nicknamed, was sometimes strained.
A devout Catholic, Veronica Cooper stuck by Gary through thick and thin, and through several secret affairs, but they separated in 1951, when Gary refused to end an affair with actress, Patricia Neal, whom he was in love with. Neal ended the affair that Christmas, but Gary Cooper didn't reunite with his wife until 1954. Even after that, he had affairs, including one with bombshell, Anita Ekberg, in April of 1955. The couple remained married, though, from 1933 until his death in 1961 of prostate cancer. He had converted to Catholicism himself in 1959. When he learned he was going to die, Gary Cooper commented that he knew it was God's will, and that he was not afraid of the future.
Gary Cooper was originally interred at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in California, but when Veronica remarried and moved to New York in 1974, she had his body exhumed and moved to Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southhampton, NY. When she passed away in 2000, she was buried next to him. Her devotion to him extended even after death.
Some challenging lighting with these back-lit hawks on an overcast morning, but it was great to see them!

The colour hasn't come out well as it is from our old camera. The official Mini colour is 'Mellow Yellow'
My wife called my attention to a big bird by the bird feeder this morning and wanted to know what kind of bird it was. When I looked I immediately grabbed my camera and the Coopers Hawk was gone. I spotted it by the tree line in my back yard which is quite a ways away. After 20 minutes I decided to get warm cloths on seeing it was -4 degrees out and try to get as close as I could to see if I could grab a couple shots. After I got all my warm cloths and boots on I looked and it was gone. I looked at the feeder and there is was again so I ran to the window and got afew shots shooting through the window.
