Backstreet in Palolem, Goa. We were probably on our way to the beach. Either that, or Mrs B was going to partake in her newfound sport - haggling with the locals.
A beautiful setting overlooking the Elbe river and harbour in Hamburg located at the Elbchaussee 139. A masterpiece of design, hospitality, function and setting. We enjoyed our beautiful 3-Course lunch on a sunny afternoon at this 1*Michelin starred restaurant by chef Ali Güngörmüs who was there in person to greet people which felt like a “home”. Le Canard Nouveau comes highly recommended, it’s worth a special visit and even a detour. Here we found also the Lime-Tree Terrace and the Japan Room which are waiting to be explored beside the beautiful views and gourmet pleasures. Our April 2016 visit and yes, we hope to visit again in our future. Highly recommended.

gingko beef burger featuring grass fed, free range, hormone free beef, with hummous and roasted peppers, chips and side salad
These are beef empanadas. They are fried and springled with sugar to follow a tradition from the north of Argentina where empanadas are fried and juicy!
Hands On Gourmet is moving to the corner office. We'll be in the South East Corner of the historic American Can Building, now known as the American Industrial Center. The view to the East is of the Bay and the old ship yards and to the south is old San Francisco. Same building; enhanced view.
The commercial kitchen includes 2, 6-burner ranges, multiple ovens, and shiny new stainless steel work stations. We've built custom tables for dining that can accommodate 40 guests and our small plates event can accommodate up to 60 guests. The space is also perfect for swanky dinner parties and other private events.
A little history of the new digs. In the 30's and 40's the space was used for research and development of various canned goods. Later on it was where they bottled milk.
We've restored the original tile work and polished the cement floors. It is a blend of industrial and contemporary.
We look forward to cooking with you here.

You’ll find answers to these questions and more in this book which is based on and draws from the proceedings of the 2008 Santa Fe & UNESCO International Conference on Creative Tourism.
