Soupe au Pistou, made from a recipe found here at MediterrAsian.com and in the cookbook The MediterrAsian Way.
My creation! Is it real?
Local Bibb lettuce filled with leftover black-eye peas, chopped boiled egg, chopped local tomatoes, jalapeno, feta, and basil. The Dinnerman didn't know what to make of these at first, but decided they were pretty good.
Tri-tip (from Joe of Casa Brasil), black-eyed peas, baked potatoes, and salad.
The tri-tip was so tender and flavorful. It was also a cinch to make, something I'd definitely do again!
We drank a delicious red with this which neither of us had tried before:
Makulu, an Iswithi Pinotage, from the Western Cape of South Africa. Yum!
(The Zulu work 'Makulu' means BIG!)
Happy New Year!
