Putting me in the kitchen with dinner preparations is an opportunity for me to be distracted. After a few years of stopping the cooking process to photograph various foods, I've learned to set those precious possible photographic candidates aside for a while. Here's to red peppers...a source of Vitamin C and antioxidants. Hooray for healthy foods!

Macro Monday - Misfit
I bought these tiny rose petals for use in cooking and baking (at least that's what I told my husband ;) I already had the rosebud.
I added a texture (my own) then brushed it off most of the white areas and over egged the edit as I thought it suited it. HMM
Hef, on a Friday evening, cooking a meal of Welsh beef quarter pounder burgers with caramalised onions on brioche buns.
Strawberries and cream for dessert, with Chardonnay wine.
He has several hobbies to pursue since retiring from his work.

A few days ago, in between tea and cookies, the GIF-spamming... erm, conversation, that is, ended up being about a famous British food writer, TV presenter, and cook, who served as my inspiration today. This week the Flickr Friday theme is "stacked”, and one of my close friends who also enjoys cooking, inspired me to create this stack of recipe books.
It is not unusual when I have guests coming over that I will plan a three, four or five course luncheon or dinner that can be enjoyed over several hours. Therefore in the planning stages of such an event, it is not unusual to find a stack of recipe books like this on my kitchen bench, many of which are tagged with Post-It Notes or scraps of paper to mark favourite recipes.
