This is a small local workshop where pig blood is prepared for delivery to the shops and restaurants in central Bangkok. This specific workshop is over 80 years old and uses the same cooking method as in the old days. There are large wood fired vats where the blood is cooked and prepared. It’s really like a bygone era. The only light available is from a hole in the roof, and the burning wood fires.
This week the Flickr Friday theme is "stacked”, and one of my close friends who also enjoys cooking, inspired me to create this stack of recipe books.
It is not unusual when I have guests coming over that I will plan a three, four or five course luncheon or dinner that can be enjoyed over several hours. Therefore in the planning stages of such an event, it is not unusual to find a stack of recipe books like this on my kitchen bench, many of which are tagged with Post-It Notes or scraps of paper to mark favourite recipes.

Because the Coronavirus is keeping many of us confined to home, I have a little more time to bake and practice food photography. There is an old saying, "You eat with your eyes first!" With this in mind I decided to create a beautiful Focaccia bread that was colorful and fun. Focaccia bread is a type of Italian yeast bread baked in flat sheet pans. It is flavored with olive oil, herbs and other vegetables.
