My take on the "cake" ball ever that's everywhere. Except used my traditional soft cookie recipe. Love how they turned out.
A neighbor recently gave birth, so I brought her dinner and wanted to include something sweet. I devoured these homemade chocolate chip lactation cookies after I had my son, so they were a perfect fit. They're just regular chocolate chip cookies made a bit more nutritious with whole wheat flour, flax seed, nutritional yeast, dark chocolate, and walnuts. They're supposed to aid in milk supply for breastfeeding (which didn't stop my family from devouring them too!).
Clear signs that we're in crunch mode nearing the end of a long project. Good stuff all around fueled by cookies and a bit of fun. (Not pictured are empty coffee cups, bottles of Perrier, and [http://www.flickr.com/photos/16815738@N00/])
At the venue for PAX Prime 2013, there was a collection of amazing/disturbing cookie jars. Truly, these are an artifact from a time long gone.
These cookies were born of a desire to use the hazelnuts I'd purchased on a whim, as well as the cocoa I'd thought might come in handy someday. I did some research and stumbled upon this recipe, so I gave it a shot.
I used the instructions on roasting hazelnuts from another recipe I came across in my search, and though I may have overdone them, it was a neat experiment! I halved the recipe above, and used 1/2 cup of chopped Endangered Species chocolate that I already had in my pantry. The instructions call for putting the cookies in a ball, and they stay that way, so the rest I flattened out a touch. Using a tablespoon scoop (as instructed) resulted in 28 cookies (yes, that's with half the recipe). They were pretty dry, but much better on the second day. The sea salt on top is a nice, surprising touch!
mint and chocolate chip cookies. returning a jug that came filled with beautiful tropical homemade juice
Crocheted these cookies during a quiet Saturday, as I had nothing to do and Chinese New Year is coming too, maybe someone is coming for a visit? Who knows...
Well, these cookies are fun to make, first plan just wanted to crocheted just 2 or 3, but ended up in eleven cookies..
I think maybe I should have crocheted them in dark chocolate yarn so they resembled Oreo.
