Here are some pics i was lucky to get with my nikon p900 when i was in the cook islands last year hope you enjoy!!!
Shortly after 6:00 AM, I was riding my bike (carrying my tripod in one arm) along the edge of Cook’s Meadow in Yosemite Valley when I spotted this cinnamon/brown black bear foraging in the forest. Shaking with excitement, I jumped off my bike and grabbed my camera from my backpack. By the time I spotted him again only seconds later, he had curled up at the base of a large ponderosa pine. He was out cold! He slept for the next two hours and I was able to quietly approach and get these close un-cropped pictures! My tripod, once again, saved the day. I was shooting at 1/4 sec. because I wanted to keep the ISO relatively low (400).
This is (as you can see) bear #66, an adult male. Looks like I'm not the only one who's seen him recently: www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9DEvOx11e0&feature=related
On the way to Christchurch. Rest with the bus on the picnic area. Nice view from the toilets.

laying just off Fingal Head, is Cook Island. The island is actually an aquatic reserve that is home to several threatened or protected species including the giant Queensland groper, black rockcod, goldspotted rockcod (formerly known as estuary cod) and the grey nurse shark.
It also makes for great photographs :D
Last month, I turned myself into a rock band fangirl and accompanied my sister to a few of David Cook Declaration concerts in WA.
08/23/09 Capitol Theatre, Yakima (I was almost deaf from the REAL screaming fangirls!)
08/24/09 Showbox SoDo, Seattle (I used ear plugs! OMG! They worked!)
08/26/09 STAR Stage, Seattle (Acoustic mini concert and Q&A, no ear plugs needed!)
Today, we are heading to OR for one more concert. It's outdoor and it's going to rain down there. Dang it!
PS: David Cook, you are nice and talented but I will never be Cookified...
