Why build just one i8 if there is an option to build another one, but just make it convertible. So I did.

For those who didn't notice the first one - here's the album link: www.flickr.com/photos/the_rolic/albums/72157716803125113

And - what's best - it has instructions available now here: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-57837/Rolic/bmw-i8/#details

As the title states - it features retractable roof (loosing the space for rear seats).

For those who saw my blue i8 - remember I used the rigid hose to shape the door window frame and door hinge at the same time. Obviously - I couldn't use the same technique here as there is no window frame from end-to-end. There's just a small triangle. But!!!! With the help of few bar pieces and droid arms I could achieve everything I thought was impossible.

So I hope you like this one as much as I do. Let me know :)

The brand new C7 Stingray Convertible sits in the paddock at Sebring International Raceway. Its fitting that I see my first C7 convertible here as the first time I saw a C7 coupe was at the 12 Hours of Sebring.

The Jaguar Monaco was built to a design by Paul Bailey Designs in conjunction with Jaguar between 1989 and 2001. The first was a special order by the Sultan of Brunei and in total there where supposed to have been 10 built before the company ceased trading after Paul Bailey had suffered a heart attack. The Sultan of Brunei apparently owned two. Number one a coupe was produced in red with a solid gold growler badge on the bonnet with diamonds for eyes. The other was a convertible. Officially there were ten cars built, but it would appear a few more were completed at the Bristol factory or from the original molds before they where apparently bought and shipped to Texas. As production numbers where so low each car was built to order and had its own unique features. such as filler cap design. rear light cluster changes. wheels. colours etc. A wedding hire company in Bristol claim to have number 12.

ECW bodied convertible Bristol VRTSL3/6LXB 617 (UWV 617S) recently restored to Southdown West Sussex two tone green and cream livery looked superb as it stood on the seafront at Worthing on July 31st 2016.

This is a July 1972 Peugeot 304 convertible, it had a 1288cc engine and according to DVLA is red. The car had its last tax liability in October 1986 therefore I suspect it has had a date with Madame Guillotine.

Peter photographed it in Station Road Kings Norton.

Happy and sunny weekend to everybody.

I don't recall seeing many of these early 1970s Mustangs as a convertible.

On a Suffolk 'DX' plate, and has apparently been here since new in 1972.

The cars registered either side of it were a BMW 2002 on 120K which made it to 2003 and a Triumph Stag KDX 122K which is on SORN and MoTed.
