Despite looking very nice and original, this car is far from it. It started life as a Saloon, and was converted into a Convertible using parts from a genuine convertible and a kit for making one. It also has a later 1275cc engine fitted and a 5 speed Ford gearbox, which has necessitated a shorter Prop-shaft being fitted and a modified Bell housing.

2001 Jaguar XK8 convertible, purchased new in 2000.

Michael Caine's and Jane Fonda's characters (both doing very overblown Southern accents) drove a silver '47 Caddy convertible in a 1967 movie called "Hurry Sundown".

 

The movie? Meh. The car? I wanted one from the moment I saw it, and still do. A red one, driven by a maniacal, embezzling Santa, was featured in my year 2000 Christmas promo postcard.
