This cute little yellow convertible was photographed at the J. C. Whitney Car Show, east of LaSalle, Illinois, May 4, 2014. It is a local car from the area.
Here's a beauty - a '57 droptop Bug, in basic black with a gorgeous red nterior.
Chrome trim is tasteful, without being gaudy. And so are the Euro bumpers. ;-)
All Beetles, be they hardtop or convertible, gained a new feature for 1957 - tubeless tires.

Is he really the owner of the Swiss-registered convertible, or just a passer-by posing with a prestigious car for fun?

1966 Volvo P1800, converted to a convertible at some point in it's life. Parked next to it is a nice P1800 ES (estate).
I've shot this at the Nationaal Oldtimer Festival 2013 on Circuit Park Zandvoort. Hundreds of classic cars from all kinds of marques showed up. There were classic races on the track, free tracktime for anyone who wanted a go, a huge Porsche Paddock, various Bulls in honour of Lamborghini's 50th anniversary year and a demonstration by Indian Pete and his Peterbilt Jettruck (2 Phantom F4 turbine engines developing a whopping 12000 HP).
Take a look at the rest of the photo's I took at the Nationaal Oldtimer Festival here:

Instructions for my Porsche 911. I've had many requests for these.
I'll leave it to you to improvise changes for the different 911 models. Part availability makes a black version easy. A white version is possible, but (at the time or writing) requires part substitution. They're the only other colours I've tried.
Someone asked if I could make the two pictures into one. I guess I can! Here is my best shot at it...

For the 1957 model year, the Imperial received its own platform, setting it apart from any other division of Chrysler. This would last through the 1966 model year. Imperials during this period were substantially wider, both inside and out, than other Mopars with front and rear shoulder room equal to 64.0 in (1,626 mm) and 62.0 in (1,575 mm) respectively. The front seat shoulder room measurement remains an unsurpassed record for Imperial and would remain the record for any car until the 1971–1976 GM full-size models. Exterior width reached a maximum of 81.7 in (2,075 mm) during 1961–1963, which remains the record for the widest non-limousine American car. After Lincoln downsized in 1961 this generation of Imperial had no real competitor for the title of largest car for the remainder of its decade-long lifespan.
One advantage of Imperials of this vintage was their strength; their crashworthiness got them banned from most demolition derbies for being too durable and too tough to take down. Unlike the rest of the Chrysler Corporation makes (Chrysler, De Soto, Dodge and Plymouth), that began unibody construction in 1960, the Imperial retained separate full perimeter frames for rigidity through the 1966 model year. These substantial frames had a box cross section with crossmembers forming an "X". The drive shaft passed through a hole in the "X" frame. The emergency brake gripped the drive shaft, and was not connected to the rear drum brakes prior to 1963.
Another advantage was that Imperial, and all Mopars, received "Torsion-Aire" suspension in 1957. Torsion-Aire was an indirect-acting, torsion-bar front suspension system which reduced unsprung weight and shifted the car's center of gravity downward and rearward. Torsion-bar suspension on the front combined with multi-leaf springs on the rear provided a smoother ride and improved handling. Tom McCahill, an automobile critic with a reputation for colorful metaphors, quipped that Imperial "cornered at speed flatter than a tournament billiard table", unusual for a car of its prodigious weight and extreme dimensions. McCahill became a loyal customer, buying a new Imperial yearly 1957 through 1962. His visible and enthusiastic endorsement helped Imperial forge a reputation as the "driver's car" among the big three luxury makes.

69 Stingray Corvette! Black Convertible Stingray Corvette!
I had the vette for less than 24 hours and I parked it on the PCH in Malibu with the top down for a few minutes, and when I returned, a blond was sitting in the driver's seat! She was from Prague of all places!
She had beautiful curves--the 69 stingray corvette! And the blond too! She had her top down! As AC/DC said, "She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean, she was the best damn woman I had ever seen!" She ran a little rough, so "You shook me all night long," applied as I drove her through the canyons under the full moon. AC/DC's You SHook Me All Night Long: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xj2s1MvwlWg

'69 Mustang Convertible 351 Windsor...what a beauty. Hanging with Flickr Friends, KYGirl Photography (Bena) pulled this beauty out of the garage so I could shoot it. I'm a sucker for a fast pony ; )
I consider this to be some of the finest automotive artwork ever. I don't know who the artist is, but he sure knew how to illustrate cars to bring out their best. The 1950 design was somewhat plain, but still an attractive car, especially in convertible form. This was the year before the hemi V-8 was introduced, so the buyer had to make do with the old 135 hp Spitfire L-head eight. Prestomatic Fluid Drive was available.
Matchbox 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, first seen as a single in this lovely gleaming red colour and now available some years later in the MBX Highway II five vehicle set. Found recently at Tesco. Mint and boxed.
My own design! This is is a big bag with both some short leather handles fixed on with rivets, and a long adjustable strap with o rings. The bottom is fake brown leather. The top was finished with blue piping.
