1969 Chrysler 300 Convertible, photographed at the Amboy Depot Days Car Show, 2015. They will never make 'em like this again.
Why build just one i8 if there is an option to build another one, but just make it convertible. So I did.
For those who didn't notice the first one - here's the album link: www.flickr.com/photos/the_rolic/albums/72157716803125113
And - what's best - it has instructions available now here: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-57837/Rolic/bmw-i8/#details
As the title states - it features retractable roof (loosing the space for rear seats).
For those who saw my blue i8 - remember I used the rigid hose to shape the door window frame and door hinge at the same time. Obviously - I couldn't use the same technique here as there is no window frame from end-to-end. There's just a small triangle. But!!!! With the help of few bar pieces and droid arms I could achieve everything I thought was impossible.
So I hope you like this one as much as I do. Let me know :)
Is this a 900 or a 9000?
It's a couple of years at least since I've been to a scrapyard, and it was a bit of an eye opener.
I've commented on other peoples photos of scrap cars expressing surprise at how new and upmarket many of the vehicles were, and somehow assumed that in this part of the world they would tend to be repaired,or at least sold for spares.
Well;I'm out of touch.
Many of the cars in here were upmarket models around 12-15 years old. Most appeared to have little if any body damage or rust;some, like this one, appeared to be in excellent condition.
There was another Saab convertible in here too.

My parents had a '49 Ford, when I was a kid, but it was a Club Coupe, not a convertible, like this pretty little Ford. Seen at the AACA Grand National Show, Moline, Illinois, June 29, 2013.

METROPOLITAN CONVERTIBLE
Hubley – 158K
1/24 Scale – 1960
Although Hubley produced separate boxed kits for convertible and hardtop versions of their TR-3 and 300SL, there was not a boxed hardtop variant of the Metropolitan. There was, however, a bagged kit (1107) of the Metro Hardtop. This was a stripped down, economy edition that did not include an interior, customizing parts or decals.
