The irrigation system consists of the inlet box culvert, pipe, and outlet valve structure. The inlet box culvert is located within the area of the Boji Dam reservoir and allows water to enter into the irrigation piping system once the reservoir reaches a particular elevation stage. The bottom elevation of the inlet culvert is approximately 1 m below the top of the dam. The size of the pipe conveying water under the dam between the inlet culvert and the outlet valve structure is estimated at 90 cm. on the downstream side of the dam, an outlet valve structure is located in order to control discharge of water into a natural stream channel for irrigation and animal water usage. Both the inlet box culvert and valve structure are constructed of reinforced concrete, which currently resides on the existing ground surface.

Just north of the South Tunnel is this small stream that passes under the old railway. It's only something small but the fact this stream had it's route changed like this just for the whole thing to end up abandoned annoys me just as much as the tunnels being left empty. Then again the M90 was needed and I've used that more than I'd ever have used a train going this way.

Stopcock control at an old watermill, an early example of a hydro-electric plant, originally used to provide street lighting in the small Greek village of Kalyves, Crete. The building was restored a few years ago and is now used only occasionally for small exhibitions and a few village events.
Down the road from our NY stat hunting cabin the FD was to a controlled burn on this house. It used to be a nice old farm house but the new owner did not want it he bought it for the land. I will post a picture of it before sometime when I get the chance.

Slightly belated effort to deconstruct previously depressing videos which almost gets there in places. My characteristically unwise decision to read some of the text myself is perhaps compensated by the magnificent performance of Martin de Sey near the end.

Onyx paused, having trouble orienting himself to the forest after being away for twenty four years. The trees were not in the right place and the path was gone, he had been looking for about an hour now. Finally, he saw the familiar small cabin with the smoke pouring out its chimney. It had looked out of place since the late 1800’s but still stood now. This was his father’s house. He hadn’t left the house in over 250 years but had gotten into plenty of trouble before then, including the creation of Onyx and his younger sister Gwen. He also got into some trouble when he revived Gwen and extended her life. Onyx’s mother was a vampire, so he had never had the same trouble as Gwen. Gwen was mortal at first, with magic pertaining to weather. She would still die at some point, but she was aging very slowly now. Onyx had just finally found her shortly before she was hung. Their father didn’t take kindly to having his kin hung as a witch, the town was long gone but Gwen was not.
“I still don’t understand what you did to her,” Onyx spat at his father’s feet.
“You’ve gotten protective for someone who didn’t want to find her.” He spoke slowly, no reason to rush through the conversation.
“It’s different now, you’ve fucked up her trajectory.”
“You begged when you found her body, who was I to deny your sibling what you were born with.”
“You say that like she isn’t even your daughter.”
“You I raised, her I didn’t meet until you brought me her dead body.”
“But who are you to take control of someone’s life like that?”
“She doesn’t suffer from it like you do.” This comment stopped Onyx in his tracks. Like every other conversation they had since Onyx had shown up with Gwen’s body, he walked back out the door. He’d go back to his life for a while, maybe even thirty, forty years and then he’d be back again. He always returned to his father in times of great need.
