Now that fall is here, humidity is high and temperatures low, controlled burns are taking place along the Seward Highway on the Kenai Peninsula.
The itsy bitsy spruce bark beetle has been playing havoc on the spruce trees in the area creating fuel for potential forest fires. The controlled burns are helping remove some of the dead fall and other debris.
The burn-off program is important because it is the primary method for minimizing the impact of summer bush fires.

Em comemoração ao mês das Crianças a Controlar abriu as portas para receber as famílias de seus colaboradores num dia muito divertido.
Para um evento dessa importância, a Arte da Tribo Produções trouxe o tema SUSTENTABILIDADE de forma que todos pudessem ter um dia divertido e recheado de informação.
Nesta animada festa, ao chegarem os participantes ganharam um kit lanche e uma foto lembrança. A visita reservou muitas surpresas:

- Teatro infantil com A Fórmula Secreta do Sr. Jamantão.
- Os teens participaram de uma inspeção interativa e muito divertida, ficaram sabendo tudo que a Controlar faz para contribuir com o meio ambiente.
- Oficina de Reciclagem junto com os pais aprendendo a fazer um divertido brinquedo com garrafa pet.
- Ciência Maluca com um divertido laboratório com experiências que encantaram a todos.

Built between 1933 and 1936, Norris Dam was constructed by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as their first flood control and hydroelectric generation project, and stretches across the Clinch River between Campbell County and Anderson County, Tennessee. Named for George Norris (1861-1944), a senator from Nebraska whom was a key proponent of the Tennessee Valley Authority, created as part of the New Deal, the 265 foot (81 meter) high and 1,860 foot (570 meter) long concrete dam impounds the largest reservoir in the Tennessee River basin by surface area, covering 33,840 acres (137 square kilometers) with an 809 mile (1,302 kilometer) shoreline, with a catchment area of 2,912 square miles (7,540 square kilometers) and a surface elevation of 1,020 feet (310 meters). The reservoir averages 75 feet (23 meters) deep, with a maximum depth of 210 feet (64 meters) at the dam, and extends 73 miles up the Clinch River from the dam. The construction of the dam required the purchase of 152,000 acres of land, and displaced 2,841 families and 5,226 graves. The rural communities and towns of Loyston, Caryville, Big Barren, and Baker’s Forge were wiped out partially or entirely by the creation of the lake. The dam has several Modernist and Art Deco flourishes, and a Mid Century Modern visitor center, built circa 1953 upon the creation of Norris Dam State Park, that features a concrete butterfly roof and decorative mosaic tile panels. US Highway 441 crosses the top of the dam between Norris, Tennessee and Rocky Top, Tennessee, providing quick and easy access to the dam and lake from nearby Interstate 75. The first project to be completed by the Tennessee Valley Authority, the dam was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Control + C significa 3 giorni di festival in cui si alterneranno in varie location musicisti, critici, artisti, videomaker, scrittori per mostrare le sfaccettature dell’arte contemporanea, now, ora.
Interverranno alla rassegna – ad ingresso libero – artisti come il tedesco Apparat (uno dei maggiori esponenti dell’elettronica contemporanea, per la prima volta in Italia con la sua band), Enrico Ghezzi (curatore di trsmissioni come Blob, Fuori Orario…), il regista Alex Infascelli, Tim Hecker (musicista canadese di avanguardia, fra i più rappresentativi nella scena ambient), Scuola Furano (dj italiani da esportazione), Jeremy Shaw (mente della band canadese Circlesquare), Jukka Reverberi (membro della band italiana Giardini Di Mirò), Emidio Clementi (ex membro dei Massimo Volume, ora apprezzato scrittore), Hauschka (pianista tedesco sulla medesima etichetta di Sigur Ros e Mùm), nonché mostre con lavori di Shobo Shobo, dell’archivio degli editori Seems Book e Used Future e una retrospettiva sul famoso store milanese King Kong, punto focale per la scena street italiana e tanto altro.
