Sobre el instante imprevisible de la arquitectura.
"All spaces need natural light [...] Articial light is a single tiny static
moment in light and can never equal the nuances of mood created by
the time of day and the wonder of seasons."
Louis Kahn (1959) en The Architecture of Light, Mary Ann Steane | 2011, Editorial Routledge

I always park in the garage whenever I have to pick someone up at the airport, rather than keep circling around the terminal. I had a few minutes to kill, so I got some quick shots.
This is TIA's control tower. My grandfather worked for the engineering company that built the airport back in 1971 and became head of the company in the mid-80s. He was on the cover of an engineering magazine, posing in front of the control tower. I believe the company went on to build Airside A in 1995.
Tampa Airport, Tampa.
one of the surprises we found in Memphis compared to our last visit there 23 years ago (ouch) is the trollery service in the downtown area.
The cab of the Mallard looks very similar to most other engines of the day. The Level glasses in the foreground, brake regulators and various valves and gauges.
I suppose a more tech-savy term would be "interface," a device that enables a programmable thermostat to control a 40 amp contactor. This is temporary, until I have time to build it inside a tidy steel box.
USA did not sign arms treaty: The U.S. didn't join the U.K., France and other leading Western allies at the United Nations today to sign the first international treaty regulating the $85 billion-a-year global arms trade.

Here is the tracker control system in its deployment configuration – the card is the same size as an Arduino Uno . Socket at left holds the Arduino Pro Mini clone (ATmega328 5V 16Mhz). Socket at right holds the A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Carrier. Single 2-pole screw terminal block, right front, connects to the HOME sensor switch. The pair of 2-pole screw terminal blocks, right rear, connect to the four leads of the stepper motor.
The 6-pin right-angle header on the nearside of the Arduino Pro Mini clone can be connected to a USB-to-Serial converter, but is only used to download programs from a PC onto the Arduino.
Note the 9 VDC battery cap. I intend to power this system from an external power tank, because I plan to add a current hungry, FET-driven, anti-dew heater controller to the empty real estate on the board. However, for the time being, what with the stepper motor being powered at a 0.8% duty cycle, I actually think I can run the tracker for several hours on a standard 9V battery.
