You can't have a space program without Mission Control. A room full of consoles covered with video monitors and flashing lights is an essential tool in the process of putting humans in space. The controllers monitor the spacecraft and crew, ensuring the health of both.
The city is using Water Management Department trucks to control access into the downtown area south of Division Street. This truck is at N. State Street.
Aside from the 6 gigantic cooling towers, these two relatively squat buildings are the only structures left standing at Thorpe Marsh Power Station. Unfortunately, access to the higher levels looked rather sketchy, so we were unable to gain a higher viewpoint of the surrounding area.

An analogue fire control computer, this one in no.2 turret. The range, angle, ship and target speed and course, etc, can be set using the handles round the side, with the readouts on top giving the angle and elevation of the guns. There was presumably a main fire control computer in the superstructure (maybe the one on the bridge?) and this would be a backup in case communications were severed or the main computer was destroyed.
It is very hot here in São LuÃs today, it is currently sitting at 32 degrees Celsius but feels more like 42! Thankfully there is a minibar stocked with cans of Coca Cola and bottled water, which I’ve now exhausted so need to call room service to restock! I’m flying home in the morning and cannot wait!
Today, Indonesia reported 1,331 new coronavirus infections, its biggest daily increase since the outbreak started locally, taking its total number of cases to 42,762. Meanwhile, Scotland enters in to Phase 2 of lockdown being eased with on street shops being opened. Phase 2: Virus controlled. You can meet larger groups outdoors and meet another household indoors. Construction, factories, warehouses, laboratories and small shops can resume work. Playgrounds and sports courts can reopen, and professional sport can begin again.

The first cases of rabies in Bali were reported in 2008. FAO established a technical assistance project with the Government of Indonesia with the aim of supporting national efforts to control the disease on Bali. This was to be achieved by establishing an effective programme to coordinate and facilitate rabies control with government agencies and partner organizations. As a result of the programme, human rabies cases were reduced from eleven per month in 2010 to just one per month the following year. Following a mass vaccination of dogs, there was another major reduction in 2012 and 2013, bringing the number of reported cases down to only one human case in all of 2013. The model developed in Bali is now being modified as appropriate and used in other affected parts of Indonesia to progressively control and eliminate the virus from the entire country.
