preventive medicine specialist assigned to Company C, 27th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, tests a water sample Feb. 12, 2011. Prater, a native of San Diego, limits the spread of disease throughout the brigade by reinforcing sanitation and passing on preventive medicine knowledge to comrades. A contingency from the Royal Thai Air Force recently visited Travis Air Force Base to see firsthand how the USAF and David Grand Medical Center implements military medical training and manages health care and preventative medicine programs. They also had the opportunity to explore other facets of Travis by touring the Heritage Center, traffic control tower and a static aircraft display. CONTINGENCY OPERATING SITE MAREZ, Iraq – Brig. Gen. Dawud, commander of al Nasir District Police headquarters, and Chris Henzel, leader of Ninewa Provincial Reconstruction Team, cut the ribbon at the opening of the new al Nasir District Headquarters, March 23, 2011. The Nasir District Police headquarters is one of ten Iraqi police stations built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Ninewa province, Iraq. The completed Iraqi police stations account for more than $16 million worth of projects for Iraqi security and development, said , said Lt. Col. CONTINGENCY OPERATING LOCATION K1, Iraq – Soldiers of 12th Iraqi Army Division provide first aid to their company medic after a simulated Improvised Explosive Device struck his vehicle during a training exercise at Contingency Operating Location K1, May 16, 2011. CONTINGENCY OPERATING SITE WARRIOR, Iraq –Cpl. Joe Gregg, spots Cpl. Robert McGhee, both infantrymen of 1st Squad, 1st Platoon, Company D, 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, during the Push-Up Event of the Diablo Company Squad Challenge at Contingency Operating Site Warrior, Feb. 11, 2011. In this event, the Soldiers had two minutes to correctly execute a minimum of 50 push-ups in order to contribute to their squad’s total combined score. In order for the push-up to count, the Soldier had to touch the fist of the spotter with their chest then lock their elbows out while maintaining good form.
