FFS- At Bilikal, Aspari cluster and Bandagattu, Devankonda cluster: Topics covered on Contingency plan, since there is poor sowing due to very low rainfall and bio mass plantation protection and survival measures.

It was found ideal time to discuss dry spells and poor rainfall, Gender enabler along with Agriculture facilitator explained about rainfall and demonstrated how to measure rainfall and accordingly able to assess soil moisture and crops to grow. Gender enabler explained to the participants to understand how to measure rain and information of rainfall in TV or Newspaper. Enlighten the group as rain water normally gets absorbed into the ground or runs off making it impossible to measure the amount of rainfall. Therefore, the Project has installed 'rain gauge' in the cluster to collect rain water and possible to measure in (mm/cm). Here also clarified conversion of 10mm =1cm as used by newspaper. Based on the rainfall farm activities should be practiced. If rainfall is 2-3cm for 3 days, there will be moisture in the soil and one can plough easily. If it is 1cm then it is easy to do weeding. Besides should be prepared to go in for pulses, cereals and millet crops based on rainfall instead of commercial crops. Similarly emphasized that Project introduced rainfall measuring device with in the cluster to enable farmers to scientifically measure rainfall and plan crops.

In the above FFS – Bilekal, Aspari cluster During the FFS introduced Cycle weeder (as per 25 July Shakshi TV Sagubadi telecasted Cycle weeder innovation by a local farmer Veresh who had turned his old cycle by using one wheel and handle and attached a blade and practiced weeding operation in village of Kalapari GP of Aspari mandal in Kurnool district) Based on the above FA-APARD Agriculture facilitator invited him to attend FFS and demonstrate Cycle weeder to farmers. Women tried in the field and it was observed that women have to put in lot of energies to push the weeder, the women preferred a small wheel and a handle and requested FA to get Cycle weeder. Based on the stories from guests in this hotel's final years, they did not have plans for any of those situations. Interestingly, we found a form for reporting bomb threats, as if a panicked receptionist is going to ask a bomb threat caller to hold on while she gets the bomb threat phone call form.
