Saw this man pacing on top of the unguarded roof top. I thought he was going to jump. There's been several jumpings lately, since there's no shortage of ideal jump spots in this concrete forest. Fortunately, this man is just out there to contemplate.

I just recently finished the third of William Gibson's "Bigend" trilogy, Zero History. The trilogy contains an underlying theme contemplating brands, including a "brand hypersensitive" character who reacts to them as if they were allergens, right down to removing even the smallest logos from her clothing. When I looked down at my desk at the office today, I was struck by just how many brands are right there, staring back at me: the Apple logo on the 27" iMac that serves as my main development machine, the HP logo on the keyboard I use, the Microsoft logo on my mouse of choice, the L.L. Bean on my coffee mug, even the LEGO logo on the little commemorative brick I was handed at one of their store openings that I keep perched in front of me. And that's just the logos in this corner of the desk, which is arranged pretty much as it is normally.
Probably would have driven Gibson's character nuts.
I just shot this in the typical light of my office (intentionally blowing out the screen, so as not to violate any NDAs), using another part of my desk to brace the camera for the length of the exposure (wanted to go with a narrow enough aperture to keep the logos mostly in focus). Post work was just to tighten the cropping a hair, boost vibrance, and throw in a little vignette.
I think I might be more enamored of the concept than the end result. I'm happy with it technically, and I didn't really get anything else today that I'm happy with, although I did get a few more ideas to file away for future things. I'm really curious to know what others think of this one.
LR-11282 - Study from one of the friezes/panels on the lower section of the Paul Day The Meeting place at St Pancras Station London. The distance/perspective in all the panels is incredible considering the short physical depth of each of the panels.
Well it's raining and loads of administration bits and pieces to keep me busy, plus some thinking time. Might have time later for something a little bit more exciting :) Liked the light on this
One of the friezes or panels above the concrete plinth, you will be absorbed into a spectacular historical trip in travel. To see all the images tags with in the Public Art set.
Sitting at the kitchen table in one of the Edwardian houses on Beamish Museum's town street is this kitchen maid, happily warming herself by the coal fire, waiting for the oven to heat up and contemplating what baking to do today.

i'm contemplating a lot of things today - ideas, projects, a long to-do list, plans, things like that - so this "up down up down" image is very fitting for me today.
I was going to try out my new you beaut travel tripod today, but it was so windy I had to use my old one.... so they make them that heavy for a reason!
