Photographed through the fence near Zion National Park, UT. The Chevy COE is some type of container truck either a 5100, 5400 or 5700 model. I don't know if the cargo bed tilts upwards or not. The medium duty GMC 450/550/600/630/660/670 series trucks are not the same as the heavy duty GMC D860 through 970 conventional cab & cab over engine trucks which retained the cabs from the previous 1947-1955 Chevy/GMC Advanced Design Series trucks through model year 1959.
This is a Zulu Igulu or container from South Africa. It is today part of the collection of the UBC Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver, Canada, where its museum catalogue number is K5 132 a-b

The view outside of my office at the construction site.. a big container! While I was sitting outside looking at the sky it hit me and this composition came in to my mind.
A westbound CSX container train passes a high car detector on the New Castle Subdivision near New London, Ohio. Given that this train has no double-stacked containers, no alarms are likely to be triggered.
The seemingly endless, unbroken string of white containers zip under the ATSF era signal bridge at Bucklin. And, black and white just makes it better!

Used to move shipping containers. The points on the boom lock into the the top corners of the containers. This was built to complement set 10219-1 Maersk Train so that the containers can be unloaded from the train to the truck.
These are a bulk carrier and a container ship, each folded from a US currency note. This must be the first time I had the chance of designing and building complete ships. In my undergrad days studying to become a naval architect, I had a small role to play in building a jack-up rig and the QE2 while working in a shipyard in Upper Clyde. Yes, it's true when I tell friends that I've been on the QE2 several time. That was my only experience in building ships, except the present one.

Finally took a few decent pictures of my new container car. Color green dictated by the fact that part 30036 comes only in green, white, black and dark bluish gray.

Industry experts estimate that anywhere from 2,000 to 10,000 containers fall off ships each year, less than 1% of the number of containers sent by sea annually but representing a huge cost to those who lose cargo to the ocean. The loss of even one shipping container, which can be 20 feet to 40 feet long and 8 feet high and may hold millions of small parts, could shut down a manufacturing line.
From last summer's road trip out to Western Colorado. I was intrigued by all the various containers located at this site in Olathe, CO. Olathe is Sweet Corn Country.
I used to come here more when I needed stuff for school..but it's still cool to look around and be like "WHOA CONTAINERS."
