This is a 40' Container that is 50% complete and for sale for $4000. I looked at it today and in the process of buying it for my first livable unit for myself.
Container City is a market place located in Cholula not far from the pyramid. The buildings in this market place are made up of shipping containers which have been stacked and modified in various ways.
I placed this cache today. I found a small piece of silver birch that was hollow inside. I filled the inside with expanding foam so that it would keep it's shape and stuck a painted match container inside. The expansion of the foam pushed it out a little further than I wanted but it is still serviceable.

Containers are an ideal method of moving merchandise around countries and continents !
Most containers have been designed to travel on trucks, trains and ships. They usually last around eight years before structural problems in the ends, sides and corner posts start to develop !
They often end their lives being sold off as storage units where they can last many more years as they are no longer subject to the stress and strain of regular handling from cranes and fork lift trucks.
I took an empty cardboard salt container and completely covered it with polymer clay. The lid is a cardboard duct tape roll that I also covered in clay. They fit together perfectly, like they were made for each other!

At Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, a Poly Picosatellite Orbital Deployer, or P-POD, container is installed on the Joint Polar Satellite System-1, or JPSS-1, spacecraft. P-PODS are auxiliary payloads launched aboard NASA expendable launch vehicles carrying up to three small CubeSats. The small cube-shaped satellites are part of NASA’s Educational Launch of Nanosatellite, or ELaNa, missions. The small payloads are designed and built by students from high school-level classes up to college and university students. JPSS is the first in a series of four next-generation environmental satellites in a collaborative program between the NOAA and NASA. Liftoff from Vandenberg's Space Launch Compex-2 atop a United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket is scheduled for 1:47 a.m. PST (4:47 a.m. EST), on Nov. 14, 2017.

Containerproject
Bouwafval, gedumpt in containers kan soms hele mooie artistieke beelden opleveren. In het verleden heb ik dat al vaker gefotografeerd maar dan zonder de container er bij. Dit gaat veranderen.
Vanaf nu (maart 2018) zal ik bij elke containerfoto ook een foto plaatsen van de container zelf.
Ik plaats hier alleen containers die ik in Den Haag heb gezien. Ik zal er ook de straatnaam bij vermelden.
