On the 21st December 2024 the container ship 'Aila' (2007, 11,497DWT) is seen sheltering off Tor Bay whilst bound from Rotterdam to Bilbao. In the background the oil rig 'Dolphin Leader' is being towed by the tug 'SPM Neel Pratap 180' (2009) ex 'Maersk Tracer' and is sheltering in Lyme Bay whilst enroute to Aliaga for the rig to be scrapped.

Most goods are delivered to locations in Alaska by tug and barge. We live similarly in Maui.
This photo was taken while we were sailing on the Sapphire Princess up the Inside Passage into Alaska.
Notice that there are boats and cars sitting on top of those container stacks. One barge we saw during the cruise had an entire tugboat on top, being transported "dry".

A pair of containers in my balcony "rock garden." You can barely see the rocks now :)
Both contain dragon's blood stonecrop (Sedum spurium), and "black" sweet William (Dianthus negrescens). The container on the left also has some hare's tail grass (Lagurum ovatum), and the one on the right has some angel hair grass (Stipa tenuissima), but they're almost completely hidden by the other plants. Neither of these grasses is happy with the relative lack of sun in this spot.
To my chagrin, dragons now bleed pink and green, and black sweet Williams were apparently never black. Sigh.

Container City is a market place located in Cholula not far from the pyramid. The buildings in this market place are made up of shipping containers which have been stacked and modified in various ways.
