“Our life is a constant journey, from birth to death. The landscape changes, the people change, our needs change, but the train keeps moving. Life is the train, not the station.”
― Paulo Coelho
The forest constantly reconstitutes itself by recycling every single thing back into new life. We could learn a thing or two...
To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.

Constant Nieuwenhuys (or Constant, 1920-2005), Dutch artist. Made models of modern urban society (New Babylon).
But he also painted the same subject.

A common Red Soldier beetle (Rhagonycha fulva), making it's rounds on a Queen Anne's Lace flower. They feed on nectar and pollen and have no biting mouth parts, so are harmless to humans and pets. Their constant flitting from flower to flower make them invaluable pollinators. It's good to have them in your - NO-SPRAY! - garden.

Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them, however! Thanks again!!
Wishb you a peaceful serene 2025!
Thank you all for your wonderful images, your presence and constant support over this years‼️
Lets be confident and approach the new year with faith and optimism. Love Annamaria

From 1965 through 1989, a constant presence on Strasburg’s roster was Pennsylvania Railroad D16sb 4-4-0 1223. Here the classic 4-4-0 rolls past the shops at Strasburg.
A constant presence in our gardens and local green spaces, adult robins are instantly recognisable by their red breast with many tales from folklore of how they acquired their colourful feathers. The red colour features in its scientific name, Erithacus rubecula, and in many languages such as robin goch in Welsh, rouge-gorge in French, and el petirrojo in Spanish.
One of the architectural works of Constant, part of exhibition "New Babylon", in Gemeentemuseum, The Hague.

“Varanasi is one of India’s most ancient cities and a major pilgrimage site. Its beauty lies in its centuries-old traditions, spectacular ghats, and narrow winding streets. It is a city full of beauty and history, known for its vibrant culture, colourful temples and old buildings. The river Ganga is the lifeblood of the city, and all along its banks, visitors can see millions of devotees visiting temples, offering prayers, and the constant cycle of life happening. Kashi, which means “city of light,” is seen as the city of faith, work, and salvation. Here, beauty and spirituality come together in a way that tourists can see and feel.”
Santiago's luck is paradoxical. The valley in which is placed does not allow pollution to leave the area. However, that same valley, gives the chance to constantly have amazing views to the Andes Mountains.

I'm a minimalist when it comes to every day carry. Being a numbers guy, the one thing that is constantly in my pocket is a digital pedometer.
Illumination: LED flashlght (also carried when I go for an evening walk).
I love the constant buzz of bees and bumblebees in my garden and try to keep it attractive for them.
Have a wonderful new week, wherever you may be!

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. A frantic pace of life going on while she juggles caffeine and technology - I wonder if we will return to this pace of life after coronavirus or if we will want to continue some of the slower pace of life forced upon many of us. Stay safe and enjoy your weekend as best as you can my friends.
After being bottled up for a few days with the weather I took the chance to go for a walk and check out the ocean.
I find the constantly changing patterns and flow are quite mesmerizing and could cheerfully spend a day in my own 'rain man' moment.
Hope you like this little tableau of air and water as much as I do
The name Talkin comes from the Celtic name 'Talcan' which means brow of a hill. Tarn or 'Tjorn' is Norse for small teardrop lake.
Talkin Tarn was formed by the force of glaciers 10,000 years ago. The ice carved the landscape leaving the natural bowl which filled with water as the glaciers melted. The tarn is constantly topped up by natural freshwater springs which bubble up from below

On this morning the light and weather were in a constant state of flux, from overcast grays with no sun, to wonderful and then overwhelming backlight as the sun broke through the clouds, to light rain with and without sun. Wave forms at Cape Disappointment are a combination of tide height, swell height, and how the back wash from a previous wave after it bounces off the cliffs interacts with the next in coming swell, plus what any wind will do with the spray. According to surf-forecast•com the tide was ~ +9.4’ with swells of 10’. Cape Disappointment State Park, Washington OM23008
The Kathleen Springs are springs in the Watarrka National Park in Australia's Northern Territory. As there is a constant supply of water in the gorge, they were of great importance to the Aborigines thousands of years ago. This is where they found their bush food, such as quandong, plum bush or bush figs.
The hike to a waterhole leads through various plant communities. You see mulga and grassland. You pass bright red rocks, which are beautifully illuminated in the afternoon light. The slopes are sparsely vegetated, with the occasional ghost gum poking out of the crevices.
a portrait shot of the rock formations up on fleetwith pike. the light was changing constantly and gave the same scene a completely different look.

This poor bluebird has been crying for a mate for weeks. He sits on the bluebird house and constantly calls. He has finally given up and has left.
Living 10 minutes away from the top of Te Mata Peak, I come here often. The main, structural elements of the view from the peak are always the same. However, the time of day, the season and atmospheric conditions always make it a unique experience. On top of that, my mood when editing the photo also has a lot of influence on the final image.
