In 2003, Pittsburgh held "Dinomite Days", modeled after "Cows on Parade" in Chicago 1999, which, in turn, was inspired by the original animal statue exposition in Zurich in 1998. Dinomite Days featured three dinosaur figures including the Tyrannosaurus Rex seen here with 90+ figures in all auctioned off for charity. This particular statue is #10, called "Connections", designed by Patricia Bellan-Gillen, and currently on the campus of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh on 45th Street.

Connections 2020 brought together 900+ parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to celebrate Lab's strengths and the power of philanthropy. The event raised over $1.6M for financial aid and professional development.

Recent warm foggy mornings have caused webs and drag lines to be decorated with dew here in central North Carolina. These moss sporophytes are growing on a decaying pine log in the back yard and are about 15mm tall.
I took this at London Zoo, as you can see the tiger was looking right into my lense. There was almost a connection between us...kind of ;-)
Leeds is a popular piece of artwork featured on both the Clockwork Gallery and Gallerisation web sites.
Leeds shows the projection of an imaginary underground system of the city of Leeds. Leeds was commissioned for an exhibition in the city, and is part of the Underground series of imagery designed by Chris Gray.
This series examines aspects of human interaction and communication based on the way that mankind has developed connections. This ability is one of the corner stones of our success as a species. Underground explores various aspects of our world and how we associate with it.

Do you remember the shots I posted of the three Amur Tiger cubs, born at Potter Park Zoo last September?
I thought you'd like to see how big they are getting now. Here's my girlfriend Chris, (you all know her on flickr as Ladydragonflyycc), as she connected with one of the cubs through the glass. I was doing a nocturnal encounters tour/outreach last night for a boy scout troop camping overnight at the zoo, and talked Chris into coming along to watch.

African dance refers mainly to the dance of Sub-Saharan Africa, and more appropriately African dances because of the many cultural differences in musical and movement styles. These dances must be viewed in close connection with African Music, as many African languages have no word to define music.
