Macro Mondays "Connection"
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to view, comment, and fave my photos.
Macro Mondays 04/09/17 theme connection
For this shot I cut a piece of electrical wire stripped the ends. I then attached one wire of a low voltage transformer to an exposed section of wire below the scene. The photo was then taken with a slow shutter speed and flash. The flash lit the wire and the I used the other wire from the transformer to create the sparks by connecting it to each of the stripped wire ends.
"I am writing to you again out of necessity,
five o'clock in the morning.
The only thing left
standing in the world is you.
What should I do with their honors?
The theatric words?
On the screen of my mind
dead paper idols.
Love me, as much as you can, love me.
Looking into the mirror
I see a familiar face
and maybe his ugliness will go away
As soon as I wash and shave.
My breath stinks from cigarettes,
my mind is heavy from too much.
On the wall some Mona Lisa
brings you even closer.
Love me, as much as you can, love me.
Although this letter ends
my need does not stop.
Like a bird on a wire,
like the wandering tramp.
I want you to come and turn me on.
Tell me the tale,
like mother earth to hug me,
like white light to come again."
All good with my girl.
I just love this song!

As 2022 draws to a close, I am looking forward to turning the page on this year, which has been a difficult one for me, and starting the new chapter that is 2023.
There are a few lines from a Josh Groban song called "Thankful", that I have always loved:
Even with our differences
There is a place we're all connected
Each of us can find each others' light
For me, Flickr has become a beautiful place to find that light and that connection, especially in a world that seems to grow increasingly dark and troubled. So I want to share a deep and sincere Thank You to all my Flickr friends and contacts for the light you give and all the ways in which you uplift my spirit. Thank you for sharing your talents and creativity which both awe and inspire me, for sharing your beautiful places, special moments, and great adventures, for your thoughtful and generous support of my photography and writing, and most of all for your personal kindness, caring, and humanity. I truly enjoy all of the conversations, comments, and connection with each of you, and am incredibly thankful for your encouragement and good wishes through some of the tough times this year.
I am profoundly grateful to have met such wonderful people here on Flickr. Because in the words of the incomparable Maya Angelou in the poem below,
"Nobody, but nobody, Can make it out here alone.
I wish each of you health, happiness, and beautiful light (both in photography and life) in the new year ahead!
Alone
by Maya Angelou
Lying, thinking
Last night
How to find my soul a home
Where water is not thirsty
And bread loaf is not stone
I came up with one thing
And I don't believe I'm wrong
That nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.
Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.
There are some millionaires
With money they can't use
Their wives run round like banshees
Their children sing the blues
They've got expensive doctors
To cure their hearts of stone.
But nobody
No, nobody
Can make it out here alone.
Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.
Now if you listen closely
I'll tell you what I know
Storm clouds are gathering
The wind is gonna blow
The race of man is suffering
And I can hear the moan,
'Cause nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.
Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.

We all live on planet Earth, connected with each other. Sometimes this connection is obvious, like family and friends, or being a member of the "Marco Mondays"-group ;-)
Sometimes it isn't clear at all and then there are still secrets to reveal ;-)
Also in nature there is a connection between plants and animals. Looking inside this black Petunia, you see the pistil and stamens trying to tempt insects to enter. You know the rest of that story ;-))
I like this lovely little universe and if you do too, we are also connected ;-)
Wishing you all a very Happy Macro Monday!

"The earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all.
Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself."

That's when you and I become
You and me as one...
