Do you remember the shots I posted of the three Amur Tiger cubs, born at Potter Park Zoo last September?
I thought you'd like to see how big they are getting now. Here's my girlfriend Chris, (you all know her on flickr as Ladydragonflyycc), as she connected with one of the cubs through the glass. I was doing a nocturnal encounters tour/outreach last night for a boy scout troop camping overnight at the zoo, and talked Chris into coming along to watch.

While the Norwegian friends took hotel rooms because they were longing for a real bed and a warm shower, I put up my tent on the little camping place close to the refuge - not anticipating how stormy the following night would be...
After having a cold shower... looking after my blister... washing clothes... making a phone call... writing diary and reading some pages in John Irwings "Hotel New Hampshire" while drinking coffee in the hotel restaurant... buying some bread, cheese, tomatos and a tasty Corsican beer in the little shop of the refuge... having a simple, but delicious dinner while chatting with fellow hikers... I went to bed at about 21:00 o'clock - and didn't sleep at all during the whole night.
A strong, stormy wind (a howling dervish!) had come up and I feared that my tent would get ripped off together with all the contents... the tarpaulins were fluttering like the sails of a racing sailboat on stormy sea... some tent neighbours (as I realized in the early morning when I went to the toilet) gave up and went to sleep in the dining room of the refuge... either I was too stupid or too daunted or maybe only too tired to have such a clever idea... anyway: I held out sleeplessly by the early morning and started at 06:00 o'clock into the fourth stage (which is said to be the hardest one of the Northern GR20) with pretty bad preconditions...
Here is two days after the connection detail was made to tie in the remesh blocks securely to the foundation beam. Thsi small ferrocement detail was covered with a bentonite and water paste with some PVA fibers added to make it somewhat brushable. This bentonite fill of goo helps seal in the moisture for a good cure and the cloth was used to make sure this vulnerable detail stays wet.
