Goal::
To make giving information less of a 1-sided transaction and more of a way for a church to pastor an individual
Audience:
First Time Guests to Regular Attenders
Direction
The idea behind this new updated connection card was to create something that felt very "mobile first" friendly but translated to paper.
Secondarily, I wanted to take the connection card experience which seems like a very one-sided transaction of giving an organization your information, somewhere that was a little more meaningful.
This Connection Card design is based primarily around the person's Decision so that we can pastor them better.
Later on, I will take this same design and create an online form that will sit in our website and app.
Your feedback, favorites, and comments are much appreciated!
Update:
This iteration was improved upon from this original concept. I added a map to know where to bring the card, reduced the amount of input fields to make it less daunting, and added a box for kids' names. I also move the perforation to the middle since we had room and lowered the cost of printing. Most of the Decision icons came from Life.Church - so thanks to them!

near us....I have been watching the deterioration of an old log cabin for several years now.... ( please see my set, if you are interested...)
We drove by this afternoon...to find these scenes. The men present had been given the task by a "Judge Mackenzie"...and they were unable to say anything more than just that...
I will miss shooting photos of this interesting building...apparently it was built about 60 + years ago. It is on a good sized piece of property, near Port Elgin...where real estate values have been increasing in recent years...
I think the building in the last few years was actually a hazardous site...it is probably a good thing to see it GONE.... but I will miss this connection to older days... The old driving shed nearby was demolished yesterday...it also figures in my collection of photos.

Oh, and the man is an additional element that I thought would give something more to this photo, something for "her" to look at, creating another kind of connection.
This picture reflects on the force of nature, life and beauty in its natural formation. The texture and the imperfection of the rocks project to the visitors the need to appreciate and conciliate, at the same time, with the human history and the evolution of the world. Connection to our roots and ancestors are very important to look into the future. As we all know, the world was created to shelter all living creatures in the earth. For that reason, life is the greatest gift that humans can enjoy! This is a photograph that was taken in the Grutas da Moeda during my visit to Portugal.
Happy Birthday to all!
On this day in 1818, Emily Bronte was born, in 1938, the first edition of the Beano was published, and in 1958 Kate Bush was born.
So - Beano and Wuthering Heights connections > both reading material, and of course Kate Bush and Wuthering Heights. Now, just to find a link between KB and the Beano.......
And the pencils? A reminder we took part in the project to create a written manuscript of Wuthering Heights, when we visited the Parsonage. One line each, out of 10,000 (the project is now complete).

100 words ~ connection
I couldnt think of a better way to kick off another month than with pieces of prepping dinner for my family. I love our Friday night dinners because it's one of two nights we clear our schedules and sit down to eat together. I love that we talk about our week, what we are thankful for and that everyone here, not just me looks forward to it. As the kids get older and busier they still make sure they are here for Thankful Friday and Pasta Sunday's. As a family we choose start and end the week together. Yep, I love our conversations over dinner as it keep us connected physically and emotionally. Life is SO good!
The O2 sensor connector is behind the starter, and for most bikes the starter must be removed to access it.
Before doing anything, disconnect the negative cable from the battery to prevent a short.
Top yellow arrow points to the power connection to the starter. This is live even if the ignition is turned off. After disconnecting the (-) cable at the battery, then disconnect this wire.
Middle yellow arrow points to a friction fit connector. Just pull it off.
Bottom blue arrow points to the O2 sensor connector.
Our spiritual connection with food is a huge topic that I intend to explore more fully this year but even this vast topic starts with the daily actions of eating and preparing food. We are adult beings who are able to take responsibility for feeding ourselves and do not need to abdicate that to restaurants or food manufacturers. Taking back our connection to our food starts with making dinner, with an pot of herbs on the windowsill, with an experiment in making jam or pickles or yogurt. I certainly don't claim any special knowledge on what is the most healthful or most ecologically sound diet, I just know it is important to care about what goes into our mouths. That food becomes us, it is our vital, physical, chemical, energetic link with the rest of creation. That shouldn't come out of a box.
What foods or dishes are you most connected with? Have you ever done any food preserving or growing food in a garden? Does what food you serve change as the seasons change or do you continue to take full advantage of our modern food distribution system (or both, like in my house)? What food means winter to you?

The paddle was made by Coast Salish artist from Shı́shálh Nation, Margaret August, who is an alumni of Camosun and UVic. August created a paddle for the Building Reconciliation Forum at UVic in 2018. This gift is the sister paddle.
The gift bestowed by UVic marks two important milestones for Camosun: the 50th anniversary of college, and 30th anniversary of Eyēʔ Sqȃ’lewen – the Centre for Indigenous Education and Community Connections.
The paddle depicts a Salish owl design with the title ‘The Face of Change’. Owls often come for protection during major changes that can often be imminent. Owls bring light, and magic, and that is what the paddle represents.

18 March 2009 skype connection for AroundtheWorldwith80schools skype project with Grade 5 students at Tokyo Internation School, in Japan. Distance from us 4589.65km. 10am for us, 12 noon for them. Ms Tolisano (creator of the project) was in our room for the connection - how cool is that?
I practice kundalini yoga 5-6 times a week, and I really enjoy the connection to physical and emotional well-being that it provides. This particular style of yoga emphasizes calisthenic-style movement and demands a lot of mental stamina to get through the sometimes very extended repetitions. It also focuses on spinal flexibility and core strength, both of which have done wonders for my lower back.
I take classes at my local YMCA - kundalini is common at southern California Ys, and the price is excellent compared to a yoga studio. There are also some good practice sets on video if you don't have a local teacher.
