LA County Military & Veteran Affairs partnered with organization Wolf Connection to help female veterans overcome trauma during their military deployments. UIS students learned about potential employers, jobs and internship opportunities at the Career Connections Expo 2019. The annual event drew more than 100 employers and featured a career coaching corner, plus opportunities for students to strengthen their resume and interview skills in the days leading up to it.

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni hosted friendship day May 5, 2016. Since 1973, MCAS Iwakuni has conducted a single-day air show and open house specifically designed to foster positive relationships between the air station and our Japanese hosts, and the event traditionally draws more than 200,000 visitors and participants. This year is the 40th Friendship Day, offering a culturally enriching experience that displays the mutual support that the U.S. and Japan share. This annual event showcases a variety of static displays, aviation performances and demonstrations, and provides food and entertainment for guests of the largest single-day event in Iwakuni. The weather has been atrocious and the tide in when it wasn't!! so I took this narrow window of opportunity to make something. In creating it I now have an idea for another piece so if nothing else I love the land Art Connections project for the inspiration it seems to produce.
Great to see everyone elses interpretation too. Isn't imagination wonderful?

I can’t tell you how many business owners I have spoken with over the past few years who have hundreds of contacts in their network but...
Very little engagement within their networkI am sure you have heard of the saying: Quality over Quantity.
Well in this case it is certainly true, a member with 350 connections could have a better network than someone who has 2000 connections if their contacts are using the network on a consistent basis.
I’ve learned this the hard way. When I first started using LinkedIn, I used to connect with anyone and everyone.
It didn’t matter whether they had a picture, what number of connections they had in their network or if they had completed their profile.
But as time went by I noticed 3 common reasons on why some contacts were more engaged and active on LinkedIn than others.
