i haven't been feeling great lately.. been focusing on the negative and what i don't have as opposed to what i do have..
i had a huge wake up call today.. my son almost was strangled by the blind strings..yes they warn you a zillion times about this- and now i know that even though i thought i was aware and took all the precautions.. please please double check your strings, and make sure they are not looped or have gotten tied.. i made the mistake of making a huge loop myself- thought i was getting the dangerous string out of the way when i put the hanging end up in the little hook that holds the twist bar that opens and shuts the blinds.. BIG MISTAKE!!
THANK GOD i was standing right there when it happened.. i asked my son to look out the window, and he must have moved the looped string behind him to get closer to the glass.. then he excitedly turned.. and ran towards me and got yanked back by the string..lost his footing and was literally hanged by the loop.. i was standing right there, so i got to him in 2 seconds, but he did choke for those 2 seconds.. he is fine now, but does have a mark from the string..
but if i wasn't there- if i had gone into the next room.. i just can't bear to think about it..
it shook me.. and i am freaked out.. in a good way.
thank you God for making sure i was standing right there!!!!!!!!!!

A random snapshot of one of the electrical utility poles and the two-phase service drop electrical power line to the old abandoned Natco Oil Company office building off Main Street (Old Highway 51) in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
Despite the fact that this pole line looks like it's carrying two separate sets of three-phase power lines (two crossarms), it is in fact carrying a single "three-phase" electrical circuit as these "two circuits" connect at both ends. These old copper lines are part of the original circuit. This circuit along Main Street is one of the major three-phase cross-town circuits that distributes power to many parts of Brookhaven.

The Crescent City Connection (CCC), formerly the Greater New Orleans Bridge, consists of twin cantilever bridges over the Mississippi Rivier .It is tied as the fifth-longest cantilever bridges in the world. It is the farthest downstream bridge on the Mississippi River. CCC is also the widest and most heavily-traveled bridge on the lower Mississippi and was the first bridge across the river in New Orleans itself.
Construction of the first span began in 1954 and was completed in 1958 as the Greater New Orleans Bridge. Construction of the second span began in 1981 and opened to traffic in 1988.
Four days later, about 31,500 gallons of light crude oil spilled from a tank barge that hit a towboat, closing a 65-mile stretch of the river.
One morning in early August 2015, I woke up with a terrible pain in my stomach. Later that day I found out that I have a couple of tumors that need to be removed. Two months later I found my housemate Florian laying in his bed in the same position and in kind of a pain when you know that it is serious. He had cancer. Months of fear, pain, worry, sadness. We share an experience of a difficult illness that we were dealing with together and at the same time.
