Just thought I’d break the monotony of editing Dreamtime and upload something a little simpler, as well as share some musings.

If you’re lazy to read the following (because I tend to get wordy) feel free to navigate away from here, I’ll forgive you if you do.

Oftentimes and of late, I’ve been revisiting the familiar question, which being, “Why do I blog?”

Sure, Flickr isn’t exactly a blog, but its mechanics comes really close to photoblogging. You upload a photo, and it also allows you space upon which you can spew word vomit, a feature that I abuse all too well.

It’s been a while since I blogged though, in the pure sense of the word. I remember starting my blog when it was the hip thing to do. Oh man… that was when the word “hip” was actually in.

I think every blogger would ask that question at least once. Most would wonder if it were all pointless, and some would think about closing down their blogs. I tend to get sad when it comes to that though, it's as if I lost a friend. Even though my blog has stagnated (thanks to flickr), I still can’t bring myself to delete it.

So, why do we do this? All the posting? All the commenting? All the faving? Is there really a point to it all?

I’ve come to realize that my motivations for starting a blog from that many years ago, to why I post regularly in present time, generally does not change. Perhaps the prior reason for starting differed, but above all the reasons are interconnected.

It’s pretty simple, really.

Connections.

I believe we are all connected on some level, even if we are apparent strangers in this weird world we call the Internet.

Like every other user in the community, I love all the comments, the faves, the eprops and whatnot. I love to read about other people, and know how they think and learn to empathize with them. My heart secretly sings out when I find people who sympathize.

Because at the end of the day, I believe that when you make a comment on my page, or even stop by because something on my page caught your attention… we have made a connection.

Told you I get wordy…

See flowers and find the Sun ripening and burgeoning on Earth. Watch the colours of life live with the Bees stretching out the ground reaching out towards the trees. None of our perceptions are why the Sunflower has become so popular. The flower in nature found a place to thrive and after all of the natural struggle, happenstance and success we have the perception of the flower talking to us and we might be the ones to give a place all around the world bringing out millions of new connections all brightly, prominently and beautifully unfurled.

The heart shape is just how the plant looked that day. I am just to one side of the flower and today in 2024 I cut the picture with straight line and then reflected the cut image. I took these pictures in 2023 and edited and released some then. I do look for picture opportunities where I can reflect an image.

Guess who has been watching Vincent Van Gogh and some of the Sunflower legacy that is painted in, written down and reverberantly freshly vibrantly felt around the world in the history and mystery of known and unknown of documented in letters and illustrated in art of his and of those that inspired him and then of those that he inspired?

E ti sei opposto all'onda

How is it that despite changing over to HDMI, I still have all this?

The most valuable object which I cannot buy with money are connections with people. Every bond we've made with loved ones, friends and so on....

It didn't came out like I thought, but this was the best way to show what I meant.

I have been taking a wider look at street scenes as of late.

My photographs are becoming less about the lone figure and more about interconnected individuals.

Did Abellio really have more than everyone else, or was it the fact they tweeted each one that drew attention to it?

Here, Scania 30118 (YT61 FEM) has died in Walton-on-Thames town centre.

The September 2017 Surrey CC re-tendering changes see not much happening with the 458. Hallmark retain the route on a new longer-term contract, having taken it on on an emergency basis in December 2016 following Abellio Surrey's resignation from their contract.

There is a slightly revised timetable, including a trial additional journey on college days only from Staines to Esher which then diverts to Esher College.

The second bus per hour between Walton and Kingston, deleted in the December 2016 emergency changes as a Surrey CC "compromise," unfortunately does not return despite the new more-sustainably-costed longer term contracts. Therefore, it will remain half hourly between Staines and Walton only. It's on one of these short journeys that YT61 FEM has broken down on here.

A random snapshot of one of the electrical utility poles and the two-phase service drop electrical power line to the old abandoned Natco Oil Company office building off Main Street (Old Highway 51) in Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Despite the fact that this pole line looks like it's carrying two separate sets of three-phase power lines (two crossarms), it is in fact carrying a single "three-phase" electrical circuit as these "two circuits" connect at both ends. These old copper lines are part of the original circuit. This circuit along Main Street is one of the major three-phase cross-town circuits that distributes power to many parts of Brookhaven.

The Crescent City Connection (CCC), formerly the Greater New Orleans Bridge, consists of twin cantilever bridges over the Mississippi Rivier .It is tied as the fifth-longest cantilever bridges in the world. It is the farthest downstream bridge on the Mississippi River. CCC is also the widest and most heavily-traveled bridge on the lower Mississippi and was the first bridge across the river in New Orleans itself.

Construction of the first span began in 1954 and was completed in 1958 as the Greater New Orleans Bridge. Construction of the second span began in 1981 and opened to traffic in 1988.

Four days later, about 31,500 gallons of light crude oil spilled from a tank barge that hit a towboat, closing a 65-mile stretch of the river.

To P.....or not....to P.....

One morning in early August 2015, I woke up with a terrible pain in my stomach. Later that day I found out that I have a couple of tumors that need to be removed. Two months later I found my housemate Florian laying in his bed in the same position and in kind of a pain when you know that it is serious. He had cancer. Months of fear, pain, worry, sadness. We share an experience of a difficult illness that we were dealing with together and at the same time.
