A several hundred year old stone footbridge that crosses the Alzette river. It connects the Siechentor gate tower with the Eichertor gate tower. When Luxembourg was still a fortress, the bridge was part of the outer fortress wall and was equipped with embrasures.

Out there on your own on a stormy day, it's still pretty easy to stay connected - as this person seemed to be doing. For us over the last few weeks, it was more about some long overdue family time. Back home now, it will take a few days to catch up, but I look forward to seeing what my Flickr friends have been up to and re-connecting.

"oh snap"

I had just gotten the perfect recipe to make the bubbles stay underneath the paint long enough for me to snap this photo. This string of bubbles was exactly what I was looking for.

One of the most iconic places in the world perhaps. I like to connect deeply with areas that I photograph. Get a feel for what hidden gems might reveal themselves if taken from a different perspective, or under different light. But this one is just simply a classic taken under astro twilight. What's fun about Iceland in late Feb. is that Astro twilight lasts for nearly 2 hours on both sides of sunrise and sunset. That's 4 hours of my favorite time of day, every day!! What a fun place to play with light in.

Photo from Dombås - Norway

The Delray Connecting emerges out of the hell that is Zug Island with finished steel, coke, and other shit to be interchanged with CN at South Yard in Ecorse. In the background is Belanger interlocking which is still protected by DT&I searchlights. Although most of the hot mill operations at the Great Lakes Works have been indefinitely idled since 2020, steel processing and coke production continue at the plant, for now.

In EXPLORE 13 December 2021

This was taken on Friday 10 December. I had heard of this and the weather forecast looked good for a an excellent blue hour. The art installation is by British Artist Bruce Munro who is best known for immersive large-scale light-based installations inspired largely by his interest in shared human experience. Field of Blooms has been presented internationally, including at Uluru, Australia – the original source of inspiration for the Artist. The lights gradually change colour and the wires connecting the bulbs are also lit up. There are 1000 lights and they are displayed in the 600 year old Cloisters of Chichester Cathedral. They are free to view and are on display until 30 January

The picture was taken with a tripod with a Sony A77ii with a Sigma 10-20mm lens at 16mm. I took 3 shots for HDR processed in Photomatix using tone balancer for a more natural look. In Photoshop I used Topaz Clarity plugin for more detail and Topaz DeNoise..

I love to walk back into the woods and sit on one of the big logs, and just sit and listen and watch.

The woods is a magical place.

Even during lockdown

We are somehow connected

We live on the same planet

We see the same sun

We see the same moon

We can communicate via the World Wide Web

We are confronted with the same viral danger

Let us stand together in spirit

Together we are strong

Taken with an ultra wide angle after sunset.

Three-pin XLR connectors, a standard in the professional audio industry. In this configuration, male connectors (center) are used for outputs and females (sides) for inputs; a safe arrangement since audio signals are at very low voltages and currents.

My search for a new scenic locations continues. This is a quite far located village in my region. About 200 km of bad roads of clay. But what a good location this is. I don't remember so many birds and animals living wild and so close to the people. And people living so close to each other and so welcomed us, the aliens.

The most attractive subject in this village is a wooden bridge - not reliable but poetic. Especially in the early morning hour. We spent several hours walking there and back, watching the sun goes up and the company of swans that stopped for a sleep while we were there.
