... in true August Break spirit, there is something different over here.
Central Connect seemed to have some varied E200 MMC allocations going on in March, with a few different examples appearing on the 517 for an unusual amount of variety. I say variety, it is just MMCs at the end of the day but they do at least have varying ages/lengths and the application of the livery and graphics also differs between vehicles too.
On 17.3.25 and extra small 517 was to be found, being provided by mini 8.9 metre 371 and pictured on Chilwell High Road opposite the Charlton Arms.

Vehicle provision on the Central Connect 90 varies, with E200 MMCs of different sizes and colours plus the EVM Citylines on Sundays and some workings and variations. This was my first time seeing one of the slightly larger and fully liveried MMCs operating a 90, and although I’ve got a fair bit of disdain for the type I have to say it looks different enough for me to say I like it.
Not all of them carry the full livery with all the branding and extra diagonal stripes; I’ve also seen the simplified version with basic Vectare names on a school route, but looking at this with no context you could easily think this was one of the ‘big group’ operators with the presentation... “transport made simple” and all that. It looks like how you might imagine Arriva if they were classy and had investment.
The whole deal with Central Connect and their rapid expansion buying other companies is intriguing if a little bizarre, with Vectare (as it was) going from running a few minibuses and rail replacements to suddenly owning several operations across different parts of the country, gaining a vast fleet of MMCs out of thin air and continuing to receive brand new deliveries from ADL. Even if they’re leasing their vehicles, there must be some financial wizardry going on at that place.
Part of me wonders if it’ll all fall apart in a few years if their rapid acquisitions don’t pay off, or if they’ll instead go on to replicate Stagecoach of the nineties by proving agile in an uncertain market, punching above their weight and eventually becoming a major player in the bus industry. Maybe they genuinely will replace Arriva as the 3rd big group in years to come, or maybe they’ll just continue as they are, keeping marginal routes going and picking up random contracts.

Let's connect with my attic friends, give each other hands and make a line. On the picture you only see 3 girls, but the line of purple girls extends infinitely to the left and right. The purple satin army is ready for combat. No worries though; we are friendly and our weapons of choice are smiles, femininity and sensuality.

This is one of the Central Connect buses which I’d already seen when I visited Newark earlier in the year, but here Enviro 200 MMC CC21 GAL is pictured in Nottingham departing with a 90 to Newark and Fernwood on 17.10.24
Although they took on the route and have managed to keep it going, Vectare/Central Connect really don’t have the presentation that Marshalls did. Of the two ‘GAL’ MMCs this is the better looking one, but in this view it’s filthy. Plus the Marshalls livery is generally nicer.

Out in the desert this weekend, and set up my camera & tripod outside my bedroom door on Friday night. I set the delay for a few hours so the series started at about 3AM; 3 minuted delay between photos, and 30 photos total. Camera settings: f/2.8, 20 second exposure, ISO 1600, 16mm. Then I layered them all in Photoshop. The good news: My camera was still there in the morning!! Happy Sliders Sunday.
Legends connect the foundation of the Abbazia Santa Maria di Vezzolano to Charlemagne. It does date back to the eighth century and got destroyed in the 10th century by the Saracens.
The complex was rebuilt until 1189 and is documented as an Augustinian monastery from 1095. It was a seat of a community until the 19th century, when it was suppressed during the Napoleonic invasion of Italy.

The evolution of technology has been dramatic over the last ten years. The Internet has changed the way we do business, but the technologies fuelling that change have evolved in silos, at different speeds and for different reasons. Pulling these technologies together and enabling people to connect with each other and share information

I've posted this photo mostly to explain why I've gone on an 'adding contact' spree this morning. And here's why:
I get a lot of people adding me as a contact, mostly because of tumblr and weheartit and bookmarking sites like that. I know that most of those people are just bookmarking my profile, not actually adding me as a contact who they hope to talk to and interact with, so most of the time, I don't add people back. Today, however, I felt like I should change that.
I went through my list and added the people I see that usually comment, or that I've talked to or interacted with in some sort of way. I am open to add more people, but only if I know your name, you know what I mean?
I'm also planning a testimonial exchange, but that's business for another day. :)
So, if you have added me as a contact and actually want to have some sort of contact, but I haven't added you back, let me know through flickrmail! If you're a new friend, you can mail me as well! I'm in the mood to make friends, so let's all be happy, shall we? :D
Victor, CO - I believe you are looking inside an old Gold Trommel. What is a Gold Trommel? More details below.
It's not difficult to find old rusted mining equipment and buildings sprawled about in the Victor and Cripple Creek area of Colorado. While photo hunting I saw this intriguing tube that temporarily hypnotized me. What is this giant religious looking cheese grader? Come to find out it's a Gold Trommel.
A Gold Trommel was used to process gold bearing material by separating out the larger rocks and boulders, like a big sifter. All of the fine material will drop through the screens to be processed, the larger gravels and rocks will discharge out of the back. There are other elements like water being used to assist the process but that's the basic idea behind this thing.
"An invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, despite the time, the place, and despite the circumstances. The thread can be tightened or tangle, but will never be broken." - Chinese Proverb
I've always loved this idea. That somehow we are connected to the ones we are meant to meet by an invisible thread. I like the idea that when I meet someone I am instantly at ease with, I am connected to them by this thread that is unbreakable, no matter how much time we spend apart.
I have been struggling with my work lately and feel as though I am loosing my spark. Creating this photo really helped me. I felt alive whilst creating this and I feel as though I am finally getting back on track with my photography.
