Another shot taken with Bob.

Probably the first photo I took which was taking me out of the "point and shoot" mentality. It surprised me just how well photos can really be with proper depth of field control.

I got here some weeks ago. Still a lot to be discovered in these streets. Something undoubtedly incredible are these building in the city center.

I found this interesting against starry nightsky. I was planning to get startrail photo on that same frame, but I didn't have enough time, becouse I was in a hurry to move on the position to shoot auroras.

While the Connecting Europe Express is nice at showing what European Rail is capable of, the actual task of connecting European countries is being carried out by high speed trains like these 3 meeting in Strasbourg at the same time the CEE was there. From left to right: TGV 5488 Strasbourg-Nantes, ICE 9572 Stuttgart-Paris, TGV 9580 Frankfurt-Marseilles.

the connecting threads without the needles and the newspaper bits

This is based on a fractal of mine which is taken from the same parameters as the Moth's Dream. This began life as a tiled sphere with many connectors bringing cables to the ball. In case you have not noticed, most the titles are more or less capricious and mostly just so that I will recognize the file name. Many of them are entirely meaningless. In this case the original image was expansive and colorful. It is dreamed with a painting by Bodinier, A Melancholy Ballad. The Bodinier painting is (computationally) a black donut with a light center in which several sad figures are seen. The whole thing seems to be a comical rocket ship driven by an old man.

For the curious...thanks for asking. I really don't know exactly what it is. I found it outside of an art center. I think it is a rack for drying artwork? I have some other shots of it I might put on another day. I took it from a low level...almost at the sidewalk so that I could capture the shadows only.

At a cost of $850 Million the Transmission Gulley motorway project from Mackay's Crossing to Linden is now well underway as seen in the background. Meanwhile Steam Incorporated's Ja1271 is getting underway from Paekakariki with an empty position run for the "North Pole Express" to Paraparaumu before taking the sold out train to Otaki. Lets just hope this new motorway solves all the traffic problems...

Dot-dot-dot... that's today's theme in We're Here!. I didn't think I had anything with dots that I could use and then I remembered the coolest shoes I own (and wore yesterday).
