Probably the first photo I took which was taking me out of the "point and shoot" mentality. It surprised me just how well photos can really be with proper depth of field control.

I found this interesting against starry nightsky. I was planning to get startrail photo on that same frame, but I didn't have enough time, becouse I was in a hurry to move on the position to shoot auroras.
Connecting trains on our trip from Rapperswil-Jona to Singen Germany in the main train station at Zurich.
Commuters are busy connecting to people who are not there, while keeping each other at arm's length.
While the Connecting Europe Express is nice at showing what European Rail is capable of, the actual task of connecting European countries is being carried out by high speed trains like these 3 meeting in Strasbourg at the same time the CEE was there. From left to right: TGV 5488 Strasbourg-Nantes, ICE 9572 Stuttgart-Paris, TGV 9580 Frankfurt-Marseilles.

Denver & Rio Grande Western eastbound Rio Grande Zephyr with a D&RGW unit coal train operating in the same direction being led by a GP40-2 locomotive # 3096 along with two additional GP40-2 engines at a three track main line location in Utah, Summer 1980. The unit coal train is most likely operating on a branch line that will soon join the main line. Notice on the front porch steps of the lead GP40-2 locomotive that an employee is standing there, so this makes me believe that this is a branch line with a connecting switch to the main line that must be operated by the employee.

The Line Morada del Teléferico recently released in September 2018 is the fastest and allows us to connect Directly the City of El Alto (4000m) with the city of La Paz (3600m), although originally had an intermediate stop planned in the city of La Paz strangely disappeared from the building palanes.
Farringdon station has a long pedigree. It was opened in 1863 as the terminus of the Metropolitan Railway, when it was named Farringdon Street. Still in the ownership of the Metropolitan Railway, it was rebuilt to the style seen here in 1922, when it was renamed Farringdon & High Holborn. Clerkenwell would have been a more accurate name, as High Holborn is far distant. London Transport dropped the second part of the name, the station becoming a simple ‘Farringdon’ from 1936.
As a hub that connects London Underground services with National Rail trains, Farringdon has been much expanded since this view was taken. I commuted regularly via Farringdon between 1988 and 2007, but this occasion was my day-off.
