This is the photo I decided to use for the Facebook 30 Day Photography Challenge.

So much fun! These unbelievably colorful wires are sadly an uncommon site in most computers now. But they make the CUTEST bracelets. Great for kids and teens too!

This rainbow ribbon wire bracelet is .75" or 1.9 cm wide with a single snap black enamel button closure. This item is custom to each buyer. Please specify wrist size in message to seller. This items is safe for children 5+.

Just ordered parts for my new combination HTPC/file server. I'm going to replace my NAS and its motley assortment of external hard drives with this box. I'm going to stick it in the den and pipe the HDMI out to the living room TV over CAT5. Once I move the NAS drives in, it'll have 2 terabytes of RAID 1 mirrored space, plus its own 160 GB HD for OS, games, etc.

This came straight out of a *very* cheap CD/DVD ROM drive, this is the back of the assembly. It's destined to become part of the eye assembly

The first of these books was made for a book swap with the title "An Up-To-Date Interpretation Of The Nag Hammadi Binding".

I therefore wanted to combine old and new assocciations in one book and came up with this.

Binding: As close as possible to the Nag Hammadi Binding, given I wanted to use these Computer Boards. - Almost all stiches are tackets, and it has the characteristic close flap on the front cover, and some more technical details.

Inside: The pattered paper is Lokta paper decorated with my own lino cut, which carries details of a mother board design.

Text: A self developed cuneiform writing system. See this image made during the printing of the pages. The language is actually English :-)

Jussi Seppäsen teos Teknostadi Kirjasto 10:ssä

01.02.2010 - 30.03.2010

Kirjasto 10:ssä on esillä Jussi Seppäsen teos Teknostadi helmikuun alusta maaliskuun loppuun asti. Seppänen on toteuttanut vanhoista tietokoneen piirilevyistä Helsingin kartan. "Teknostadi on tehty rakkaudesta Helsinkiin ja helsinkiläisiin, mutta myös turhautumisesta tietotekniikan kiemuroihin. Olen tehnyt abstraktista konkreettista, veistänyt tietokoneen sisuksista uuden sielunmaiseman, sähköisen, kuhisevan, kiehtovan Stadin."

A map/model of Helsinki made out of old circuit boards and computer parts. Lots of very nice details.

Working on a Steampunk hallway and, this is the first item.

It's a homemade chandelier from parts of a bicycle, scale, subwoofer, record player and a computer.

macro motherboard view , the contours of the circuits almost make the board look 3d

The guts of my main working computer. Decently specced hardware, running Ubuntu linux 8.04. What's visible on the right is the drive array. JBOD, baby. Mostly using nice, red serial ata cables.

Without wide angle-lens, this shot would not have been possible.

Also, I'm guessing my nerdiness is starting to bleed through here.

strobist info:

one small flash with blue gel, pointed at a white background from bottom left, one 430EX snooted pointed at the clock from above left. I shot on a black reflective surface to get the reflection.

This is the root drive of my main computer. Or, rather, it was the root drive of my main computer. Might be again at some future point depending on how well this Ubuntu installation goes on a drive I just swapped in.

Yes, this is a boring "Stuff on my desk" picture. It was that kind of day. Suck it.
