Yeerk
A Yeerk is a parasite that takes over the body of another being by infesting a host's brain through their ear canal. Yeerks in their natural state have decent senses of smell and touch, but they are blind until they enter a host, as they do not have eyes. They possess antennae-like protrusions called palps, as well as osmosis nodes, small organs that process nutrients in the Yeerks' native pools. Although the presence of a circulatory system of some kind is debatable, apparently Yeerks have no hearts, as evidenced by the description of a human morphing into a Yeerk, in which the human heart stops and dissolves away completely.
Yeerks communicate in their natural state using a language of ultrasonic squeaks, and use sonar to get a basic picture of the surroundings.

My hubby is building me a brand new computer so I can process photos a little faster, use it for grad school, other regular use... oh, and play video games with him again (this computer gets bogged down every time I try to play L4D2) :)

I remember when I first got this video card - I loved how much it looked like a car. Over time this pretty card started holding me back - the poor thing just couldn't handle things well with Windows 10.
Also it was (most likely) stopping me from Netflixing on my second monitor while I was editing on my main monitor. If I'm editing I want to be able to watch Gilmore Girls at the same time. Now I have a giant monstrosity of a video card and so far things are going beautifully.
Before passing on my old video card it needed to be part of my 365 project. I used the top of a light globe for the roof, my Spyder calibrator for a seat and my car's gear stick as a controller.
Upcycled dark chocolate brown circuit boards are cut into 2.6 cm hearts and paired with 2 hneysuckle pink resistors. The total earring length from top of hook is 4 cm. Circuit boards are cut, ground smooth on the edges and sealed with acrylic water-based sealant.

The basic idea was to reuse some spare parts, like the case, diode bridge and heatsink, from an ATX PSU, the transformer from a dead UPS, and the output banana terminal from an audio amplifier.
This is part of an idea to build some stuff that helps my kids to initiate in electricity. Hence, there's no need for higher voltage or current from the PSU, since it's purpose is to replace batteries to light some low power bulbs, LEDs, motors... and when possible, with the idea of recycle and DIY present, so they can also learn, from example, that they can build stuff themselves and they don't need to buy everything ready made, or throw away everything that doesn't work anymore, in a logic of consumer electronics disposal.

Without wide angle-lens, this shot would not have been possible.
