This confused my brain as I entered the M6 heading north!

Why is there a train track in the middle of the M6?

The Class 195 Civity is a class of diesel multiple unit which is currently being constructed for Arriva UK Trains subsidiary Northern by Spanish rolling stock manufacturer CAF. A total of 58 units are to be built, 25 two-car units and 33 three-car units.

CAF is the supplier of the new regional trains for the Arriva UK operator for the railway lines in the North of England. These units belong to the Civity modular train platform.

The project consists of the supply of 43 electric trains and 55 diesel trains. The electric traction units are made up of 3 and 4 cars and can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

With the aim of ensuring maximum accessibility to those persons with reduced mobility, the trains have specific areas for wheel chairs and manual ramps to access the train. Furthermore, their interior is designed to ensure safe movement of passengers inside the train by benefiting from wide gangways and the absence of intermediate steps or ramps between cars.

The new fleet will provide services on the lines that join Blackpool, Windermere and Preston with Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Airport, Crewe, and Stoke-on-Trent.

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. (Oct. 24, 2017) -- A paradigm shift is set to occur inside the Army's command posts.

Today's generation of Soldiers use a computing ecosystem -- connected and synchronized smartphones, tablets and laptops, unknown to Soldiers a decade ago. These younger Soldiers have embraced the thousands of applications that have transformed communication and collaboration. The Army is now implementing a plan to modernize software applications and hardware used in command post operations to more closely align with what Soldiers have come to expect in their personal lives.

Currently, the computing environment in the command post primarily consists of separately developed systems. CPs are filled with a dozen or more screens displaying battlefield data, along with several types of computers and multiple servers hosting systems that support various warfighting functions such as Movement, Maneuver, Intelligence and Fires. Each stand-alone system provides just a segment of the data that must be fused to generate the commander's common operating picture.
