I was sitting on the ground trying to photograph this tiny flower, when this bee flew in and spoiled my composition. Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, Austin, TX. Sony A3000 and ELNikkor 50/2.8 enlarger lens.
I love sand dunes. They're a compositional playland.
Eureka Dunes, Death Valley, CA. We were the only ones out there, and the conditions were amazing.

From back in the days when I had time and energy to make compositions like this. This is not a true Ikebana design [it is way too centered, for one thing, so the black negative space is not s exciting as it could be]. But I was trying to keep to the principle of 'less is more' which characterizes the Japanese art of flower arranging.
