The lack of ductility of glass prevents the equalization of stresses at local irregularities or flaws and the breakage strength varies considerably about a mean value. This latter is found to occur at a tensile strength of about 700kg/cm2

This is the rear layer of the final product.

Nearing completion.

The main components assembled, this time with the skin and tail piece fitted.

The white areas on the skin are talcum powder that wasn't completely removed during the soaking process.

The skin has been stained brown using instant coffee granules.

This will be a small, simple bot. Hopefully.

Take subway Line 10 to Haidian Huangzhuang station, and leave via exit C.

Right outside this exit, there are at least 3 buildings filled with small stalls that sell every kind of electronic component imaginable.

ZEN MAGNETS - Neodymium Magnetic Balls (@1000) - C60 Extended tube frame

Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8gw34JQPyE

Fun with 5-ball pentagon rings part 2

(@060) - C60 Sphere core (made of 5-ring pentagons ... search youtube for a tutorial)

(@240) - core extensions - (12 x (4 x 5))

(@400) - 4-layer Top/Bottom hemisphere components - (2 x (10 x ((2 x 5) + (2 x 5)))) ... Note parallel bond in center of tube

(@300) - 6-layer Middle hemisphere components - (10 x ((3 x 5) + (3 x 5)))

Build Notes:

Start out with a C60 core, add 4-layer 5-ring tube extensions, then add 4-layer tube components to the Top and Bottom hemispheres. Top and Bottom hemisphere spacing is slightly shorter than the middle.

The switch in polarity of the middle is needed to make the tube fit correctly (tube 2-ball to extension 1-ball).

Then add the middle hemisphere tubes and note a similar center polarity change needed.

Tips ... if the extension tubes do not want to bond tube 2-ball to 1-ball extension, split the extension tube in have and reverse and retry.

The stats alwayys relate to performance and engine power, armaments and payload. The complexity of flexible controls drawn by hand before the days of CAD are omitted but without pinching, twisting, fracturing, crumpling these parts must flex and work each time the wings fold, fielding forces at rest and at work.

Shimano Ultegra. The RD looks a tad rough, but was the only example I could find quickly that wasn't being bid up the yinyang on That Auction Site.
