My friend Dwayne owns a shop selling skates as well as teaching skating classes. To promote his various interests he held a power-sliding competition in Weinan, Shaanxi, China.
I took along a couple of YN460 strobes, my 5D Mark II , 24-105mm F4 and my 135L.
It was very crowded which made getting good shots tough, especially with the longer 135L.

U.S. Army Soldiers representing 32 states compete in this year's 200th Military Police Command's Best Warrior Competition held at Camp Blanding, Florida, Feb. 8-11. The competitors participated in a land navigation course, Feb 9. The winning noncommissioned officer and junior enlisted Soldiers will move on the U.S. Army Reserve Command competition in May. The field portion included shot put, javelin, triple jump, standing long jump and softball toss.

An Interclub competition between Nature Warriors, Bury Defence Academy and Accrington Wrestling Club was held at Accrington Academy on Saturday 17th Dec 2022.
The Co. Longford Sports and Leisure Center 10KM Road Race was held at The Mall Sportscomplex on Templemichael Road, Longford Town, Ireland on Monday, March 18th 2013 at 12:00. This race was supported and promoted by Pixels Promotions (see links below). The race was two loops of a 5KM course which took in Longford town and the Longford by-pass. The race started on the Longford by-pass road and then finished in the Longford Sports and Leisure Center car-park. This was a very well organised race with support from the local clubs and the Gardai. There were about 160 competitors all of whom enjoyed some wonderful spring sunshine for the race. Refreshments were served afterwards.
How can I get a full resolution copy of these photographs?
All of the photographs here on this Flickr set have a visible watermark embedded in them. All of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available, free, at no cost, at full resolution WITHOUT watermark. We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not know of any other photographers who operate such a policy. As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information below.

We do not charge for these images. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that they are good enough that you would ordinarily pay for their purchase we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

This competition project completed while at Bjarke Ingels Group, Copenhagen, Denmark. Awarded first place.
Andrea Meza, Miss Universe Mexico 2020 is crowned Miss Universe at the conclusion of the 69th Miss Universe Competition® on May 16, 2021 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The new winner will move to New York City where she will live during her reign and become a spokesperson for various causes alongside The Miss Universe Organization.
This is my brother's dog "Wheels" at a Skyhoundz Disc Dog competition. Wheel's earned First Place for Distance and Accuracy.
The school choir were entered in a local expat talent competition. They reached the finals which were televised on Suzhou tv. The choir eventually finished second.
Tia was pleased and now believes that she is famous.

Taken at the top gun competition in Lakeland, FL. The competition is invitation only and teams are awarded points based on the realism of the flying and appearance of the plane. The skill and craftsmanship were awesome.

My first staff photograper gig (got free admission and a nice "staff" Tshirt) at a wushu competition in PGH. These are not posed photos, they were taken while the kids were competing. The lighting was horrible in this venue... it was a cavernous hall in a civic arena, very dim, with lighting coming directly from above. To try to manage without a flash I had the ISO bumped up to a ridiculous level (3200), wide aperture (2.8) and relatively slow shutter speed (1/60). Hence, lots of grainy noise, and a lot of blurry shots due to focus and motion. I took almost 950 photos, but only 80 or so are usable. Live and learn. If I have to do this again, I think I'll spend some time learning to shoot and process 12-bit RAW images, as I've read that you can then underexpose (e.g. faster shutter speed in this case) and yet still rescue the dark tones with postprocessing.
The Ford Case Competition (FCC), student-organized and run by the Ford Case Collective, is a 10-day consulting project in which teams of graduate public policy students compete against one another. Through the competition, students create implementable solutions to real-world policy problems facing a local government or nonprofit organization in Michigan. This year, the program’s first, sought to address ongoing parking concerns in the City of East Lansing, MI. On Friday, March 21, 2014, the final three teams presented their proposals to city administrators and a panel of Ford School faculty experts at the Joan and Sanford Weill Hall.
