Beijing, 4 December 2007 - Following successful charity drive throughout the years, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) properties in Beijing have joined hand again to provide a caring hand for the children’s education by organizing the 3rd annual ‘Cuisine for a Cause’ culinary competition, with over 30 chefs and mixologist took part in the showcasing event.

Day 1 of the 2018 Sandhurst Military Skills Competition has begun, held at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY, April 13, 2018. So tonight I decided to take full advantage of the fireworks display in town. Southport has undergone millions of pounds of redevelopment over the years and most impressive of these is the bridge seen in this photo. The shots taken were of the finale of the competition.
Note to self; wear gloves and bring tea!
Four Soldiers competed in the Maryland Army National Guard Soldier and Non-Commissioned Officer Best Warrior Competition March 16-18 at Camp Fretterd and Gunpowder Military Reservations.
Sgt. 1st Class Kevin McCluskey, Recruiting and Retention Battalion, won the NCO of the Year award for Maryland, while Sgt. Charles Tucker, Headquarters and Headquarter Troop, 1-158th Calvary Regiment, won the Soldier of the Year award.
The candidates participated in multiple events and received points for how well the task was accomplished. The winners were determined based on the amount of points received by the end of the competition. The events consisted of an Army Physical Fitness Test; shoot/no-shoot training; day land navigation; a 7-Mile road march; warrior tasks and battle drills such as weapon maintenance, self-aid and buddy care, chemical and biological skill tasks, and communication tasks; as well as an appearance in front of a board.
I am so incredibly proud of my grandson. He entered five pieces in the youth division of the county fair photography competition and place 1st or 2nd with four of them!
Today is supposed to be day 200 for me. somewhere along the line, I missed a day. so I'm gonna cheat and post two done the same day.
